Entire video was made using video camera,Iphone 4 headpfone mic and violin. Violin sounds were recorded with iphone and then edited in Vegas Pro on 1gb RAM 1.8Ghz Laptop with half working screen (half screen is solid black) What do you think? Ok guys just showing how our "studio" place looks. =D And here is another video from us :) And tesco's isn't our sponsor btw. Small vid Sort of behind the scenes.
Intonation of the notes was off a lot and your tone could do with a lot of work, but at-least you tried. Part of it might be that I hate the sound of violin in general.
i think my ears need rehabilitation
how did you make your violin sound like bagpipes?
The violin sounds were recorded in bathroom and we have added Echo in Audicity software.
it's like i'm watching a live action anime with all that violin
fucking painful
were you playing that godawful thing when you were stalking that woman?
Unlike everyone else I'm going to actually try to provide some sort of constructive criticism. Your intonation needs work. You were usually either sharp or flat throughout the entire song. You never really seemed to be in any actual key. It just jumped around and all around sounded like you weren't hitting the right notes for the situation. Make sure you know what key you're in and what notes correspond with that key. Your tremolo needs some serious work. Practice it. Take lessons. Do something. Add some vibrato but not too much. Practice vibrato every day. Literally every day. Put on a metronome and set it to 100 bpm 4/4 time. Vibrato with the beat. Work on producing overtones. You may not think those mean much but trust me, they REALLY do. After rests it seemed you would skip your bow off the strings. Make sure your bow is set before you start bowing but ensure you stay in time. The bathroom part doesn't really produce a better sound and echo just makes it 10x worse.
the thing i learned from my experience of playing violin is this: if you think you sound good, then you need way more practice.
the thing i learned from my experience of playing violin is this: if you think you sound good, then you need way more practice.
This is probably one of the truest statements for music in general. There's always something that needs to be improved.
the thing i learned from my experience of playing violin is this: if you think you sound good, then you need way more practice.
this is pretty true about guitar as well.
your work is pure quality
Whole thing sounds sharp IMO. The notes/music you chose sounded too high-pitched for the mood you seemed to be going for ( could be the fact your sharp, not sure ) and your recording room ( a bathroom apparently ) wasn't all that good.
The violin sounds like a whiny, pretentious little shit to me. I fucking hate it. And this video pretty much sums up why.

I know i need sh*t loads of practice, as i was not playing for last 5 yrs. But advices are really helpful, will keep on practice!!! Thanks. "the stalked woman" :D
:suicide:
It wasn't that bad. I mean, it's not very interesting to watch, but on the other side you guys are overreacting.
It was okay. The violin just didn't match with the mood of the video. It was really out of place and slightly threw me off from the nice visuals. And as others have said you may want to work on it.
it's like I'm drunk in the 1800s
Part of it might be that I hate the sound of violin in general.
σ_σ ...How is that even possible?
jesus christ "Vegas Pro on 1gb RAM 1.8Ghz Laptop" vegas runs on that
Preview window set on draft-quarter Resize real time preview window up to 320x240px and disable most of background software. To render 1 min of video it takes about 14min.So you have to be sure what composition is right.
Neat video, but the violin had me in fucking tears :v:
Hahaha, god damn. I remember when trying to record some drums on an iphone. the kick and the snare constantly peaked the recording, so it sounded like I was always offbeat. You should buy a zoom recorder or something.
σ_σ ...How is that even possible?
He's a synthetics guy I'm pretty sure the only string instrument he likes is cello. :v: EDIT By synthetics I mean he enjoys synthesizers a lot.
Do the 20th Century Fox theme next!
The violin sounds were recorded in bathroom and we have added Echo in Audicity software.
So you tried to make chamber music. But ended up with torture chamber music. [editline]25th January 2013[/editline] Okay honestly it doesn't sound that bad, just a bit sharp. [editline]25th January 2013[/editline] It almost as sharp as my edginess. [editline]25th January 2013[/editline] Am I zinging myself? [editline]25th January 2013[/editline] Shhh people might think you're schizophrenic. [editline]25th January 2013[/editline] You're right, I'll shut up.
Reminded me of this
