I just don't understand where the surprise is coming from. It's a piece of plastic made in China that costs next to nothing and you could clearly see that when they showed it at E3. It's not like this is new information, that's what it was advertised as. As it is, people are already complaining that there aren't enough copies to go around, so what should they do, make a 500-run set of them that are higher quality?
You are reading my posts, yes? I just explained to you that for just 50 cents a unit they could make a much cooler looking product, that would both look better, not cost a shit ton, and not look like a total cop out. Just because it's dated information doesn't make my point invalid either. Seriously A little paint, fuck even a textured sticker would have added so much more.
I am still going to purchase fallout 4 assuming the reviews for it are good upon release, but for how much this franchise has exploded, maybe actually release something worth a collection.
But I digress, perhaps unpainted is better, as it will allow more people to paint it themselves and make their own unique pip boys.
Wait yo that shit is Tan, isn't the pip boy green

If you showed me an example of a better looking product for 50 cents more maybe I'd understand, but all you posted is a gun that looks identical except for the color scheme.
In order to get it to actually look good they'd have to have a painter sit down and paint at least a bit of it by hand, like at the very least some grime, and people need paychecks, that's where the expense really is.
Also it's like a weird, almost tan, dull green now

Didn't say the product could cost 50 cents. Read again. Said it would ADD fifty cents to the cost.

That's what I meant.
I don't know if I like how the CRT juts out of the top like that in the new design. I really liked the streamlined, smaller version where the screen was embedded into the unit. But being a cathode ray tube with an electron gun, perhaps this is a little more space realistic.
I'm not a huge fallout fan but wouldn't it have been better/easier to just make like, a bobblehead vault boy or something. Especially since 90% of the people that get these are gonna play around with it for 5 minutes and then shelf it and a bobblehead would probably look better
I don't know what you guys were expecting for 60$. It looks good enough, nothing out of the ordinary for the price. Comes with a stand and a box, even.
Would probably be more expensive as a stand-alone product.

Sanding, painting and assemble of the nearly 50 parts will be required.
It's more faithful cause you're assembling basic plastic and painting it yourself.

That product costs ~92 USD after conversion. I'm not sure how that's "A LOT" cheaper. And that's before shipping if you happen to be out of the place.
And also, yeah, you're assembling it yourself...
