That was totally expected with the way DICE has been handling vehicles recently, neutering them to the point they became a variant of CoD's kill/score-streaks, but without the kill/score part.
Well balls. Like, I had no interest in Battlefront since the lack of server browser announcement, but damn, what you've listed is just pathetic.

Vehicles in Battlefront are just like battlefield or the old battle fronts, they only spawn in specific places, so you need to know where they are. Only difference is that there is no actual model on the ground
If you pick one up you need to use it within 15 seconds or it will vanish and respawn
The implication is that you're not actually getting in the vehicle you're calling in support and control that.
When you call in a vehicle you kneel down and talk into your radio then the camera shifts up to where is spawns
It really looks good, the ideas and atmosphere of the game looks great, its just got a piss poor execution. Nothing to what it should have been like.
Heroes look like fun until you fight another hero.

People are very wrong about how vehicles work. The only difference now is that they spawn on the battlefield rather than at your base.
that's exactly what happens in BF1 and BF2 though????

like just retardedly running around slapping vehicles with your lightsaber.
Yeah and it was like 7 years ago. They've changed things they didn't need to and left shit that should have been improved the same.
There are a lot of deliberate, smart game design decisions that people hate because it's not like Battlefront 2.
I dunno, I fail to see how some of the cool-downs and how restricting vehicles to power-ups are smart game design decisions.
I can't comment on cooldowns because I don't remember them enough to say anything about them.

Well yeah because they boiled the game down into pretty much a CoD style shooter when really what people wanted was battlefront 2 with better shooting mechanics and graphics.

Have you played it?

Reserve judgement for when you try it out

But doesn't the "powerup" kind of execution imply that they're all only have one person in them? If that's correct, I'd argue they're not "just like battlefield or the old battlefronts", those had vehicles for more than just one dude controlling the vehicle.

Reserve judgment until you've paid $60. Right. Sorry but these gameplay vids are enough to go by, this is at best another mediocre starwars game.
And then you get to pay $20 for the expansion that has space battles and such of course.

Open beta is tomorrow

Well there's no dropships. It's just fighters all zooming around shooting eachother.

Fuck u got me
The worst part is that this game is probably gonna make its budget back almost immediately like every other EA title. Really sucks that they can get away with quality like this.

Didn't TitanFall flop? It looked amazing and yet it didn't really have any long standing impact, which is dissapointing seeing as it's so fun.
I mean it probably sold well, but I don't really know. And Battlefront 3 could also sell poorly anyway.
Holy shit I could of forgiven everything else to an extend but I just can't get behind vehicles as powerups

Titanfall was a pretty good game as far as I am concerned. But it was another developer as well. DICE is pretty much an extension of EA at this point.
I'm pretty excited to at least give open-beta a try.

I wouldn't mind playing with other FP members but the timezones are always a problem for me :v:
Battlefield with a star wars skinpack would have been better than this.
Getting a refund.

It isn't as bad as it sounds.
You can't just grab it and run around hording it, you have to use it within 15-20 seconds or it goes away.
And they always spawn in the same spot.

At least wait until tomorrow

What makes it so different?
I think everyone's nostalgia goggles for battlefront 2 is clouding judgement on this game.
What makes it so different?
it's just way cooler seeing it there and hopping in, man
I think everyone's nostalgia goggles for battlefront 2 is clouding judgement on this game.
To be fair, Battlefront was like a highly-adjusted Battlefield, and the Battlefront games might as well of been the best not-Battlefield games on the market while simultaneously being quite memorable. When a reboot/pseudo-sequel is being done, it's kind of unavoidable that people will compare things. Even with nostalgia goggle fog.
