So hold on how can he breathe in the outside? wasnt the air like super radioactive and shit?
It seems to be set in a somewhat different location. I think the original Metro games took place in Moscow or some other huge population center, this looks like countryside villages which probably weren't directly targeted by the nukes. Either way I'm sure they have a decent explanation, the Metro games have had pretty excellent writing from what I remember. I'm so happy they seem to be going for an open-world angle with this series, even the original games which were linear felt "open" because you had so many different ways of approaching a situation (something I think the Metro series pulls off way better than most games that seem to brag about "making choices" like Dishonored). With STALKER pretty much out of the picture, and Metro having a much more competent team and more advanced tech and art, they've been in line for quite a while to take over the "open world Eastern Europe" genre and I'm super hyped to see how this turns out.
I can feel tears building up in my eyes, the shivers are great! Guess I'm gonna have to replay the games the 19th time. edit: holy shit I got 240 gameplay hours
Haven't played Last Light yet but I loved 2033 This looks cool
It should be mentioned that this game is also coming to Steam, not just the Windows Store. Thank god.

I want to get the game for my PC but I'd like my friend to be able to play it on Xbone because we game share.
Super excited for this! Love the Metro games and I've been waiting for this game for a long time.

That fucking gun though man. I swear, these game designers tickle my fancy with their weirdness.
Probably the single game that actually caught my interest. Only played the first one so I went to check the second one on Steam and whaddya know? The Redux bundle is on sale right now for like 8€ :v: Instant buy of course.
My hope is that this takes place right after Metro 2035. I also hope that that's Anna on the train. They're such a great couple (especially after you read 2035).
"Metro Exodus is an epic, story-driven first person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created. Explore the Russian wilderness across vast, non-linear levels and follow a thrilling story-line that spans an entire year through spring, summer and autumn to the depths of nuclear winter. Inspired by the novels of Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Exodus continues Artyom’s story in the greatest Metro adventure yet" "non-linear levels" not open world good :)
So that means [sp]the good ending of LL[/sp] is canon
looks promising, the nonlinear is big hope

I'd be interested in reading the latter if it adds some much needed depth to Anna's character. In the game she was just a generic romance.
Is Metro 2035 worth reading? I heard 2034 and 2035 are rather weak compared to the original.
I haven't read 2034, but I heard the same. 2035 is definitely worth reading. It's great. There are some parts that I felt were a bit too long/drawn out, but I thought it was really good. It's just different from the video games, you know? I kept waiting for Pavel to show up but he never did. I would say to read it because I think this game will draw inspiration from it. As well as just being a pretty cool book. [editline]11th June 2017[/editline] I winced in the trailer because (2035 spoilers) [sp]the dogs by the radio towers were supposed to be friendly. That part was fantastic and creepy as hell. Artyom just straight up shot the pupper, man.[/sp] That crossbow though. Awwww yisssss. [editline]11th June 2017[/editline] Also, does anyone here not have the games? I love supporting 4A in any way I can, but a lot of my friends already have the games and no one else has it on their wishlist.

Regarding "what is this village" & "how can he breathe". [sp]In the last Metro book it was stated that all radioactive stuff was just concentrated in Moscow, since it was primarily targeted. But villages near Moscow, were left intact, had breathable air and even living people. So, potentially, all those pour souls inhabiting dark and filthy metro, could just move to Moscow's outskirts and have normal life on surface. Later it is revealed that active government was pouring misinformation, that whole country is totaled and not suitable for life. This was done in fear of all those enemies who want to destroy Mother Russia. Also friendly dogs near radio station. Those radio stations where used by the government to block any transmissions, both incoming and outcoming, so that potential enemy wouldn't know that anybody survived nuclear blast. [/sp]

[/sp]
Huge 2035 spoilers! [sp]Such a cool twist. I was waiting for him to rearm the nuke or something but I think the original ending is better. I loved the slow unveiling of everything.[/sp]
good sign seeing some frame drops. theyre miniscule but noticable so this isnt some fakeout. i have hopes
I'm pretty sure this was recorded from a stream. And the whole thing is obviously scripted anyway.
i wonder what the new factions are but if they're doing the 2035 route, wew lad, I can't wait to see the factions
I wish this time around they properly implement FOV and mouse support. I had to hack both in to even be able to play the god damned games. And no, that .ini hack is garbage, you get these awful huge noodle arms. I'm talking about proper fov like this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/ccJGP26.png[/t]

I always get a little motion sick when playing the metro games, but I also don't like noodle arms.
How do you do that? I always get a little motion sick when playing the metro games, but I also don't like noodle arms.
It's a WIP hack that I built on top of Hayden's flawless widescreen tool. I tried to get it integrated into the default repository but I never managed to get it done. Tl;dr it's just a bunch of code injected into specific areas of the game. There's a few issues regarding the arms going back during cutscenes and that made me give up trying to talk to him about it. I need to find a way to detect when cutscenes are being played to disable the fov changes. And I know how you feel- but on ultrawide the issue is specially awful, and is only surpassed by how bad mouse behaves when you get higher and higher width/height ratios.
I wonder if Artyom is still the protagonist. Kinda felt like his story ended in Last Light.
Confirmed on stream that it is Artyom. [sp]Bad ending is canon in 2033, Good ending is canon in Last Light[/sp]
So hold on how can he breathe in the outside? wasnt the air like super radioactive and shit?
What amfleet said, plus it looks like its set more in the countryside which wouldn't be at the centre of the blasts [editline]a[/editline] has already been explained, sorry
Confirmed on stream that it is Artyom. [sp]Bad ending is canon in 2033, Good ending is canon in Last Light[/sp]
[sp]I thought it was already kind of confirmed in 2033 redux since the main menu is an older Artyom with his son playing in the background[/sp]
Yes! More Metro fun! Love the first two and can't wait to see what's on tap for the third!
So that means [sp]the good ending of LL[/sp] is canon
[sp]there are multiple endings?? man now i have to play it all over again[/sp] super excited for this, looks fantastic.
[sp]there are multiple endings?? man now i have to play it all over again[/sp] super excited for this, looks fantastic.
Only two in each game, bad and good endings.
Crossbows? Yes please. Looks stunning!
I'd only pre order if it has game bryo and infinite quests
