So I'm going through games trying to save every scripted to die NPC

Edit the parts where you go to re-load the quick save etc, tidy it up more and this could be a great series. Sub'd anyway.
I think the format is too long. I'd rather see the end result rather than watch half a dozen attempts to get there.
When I played Sandtraps in SMOD I was able to kill the antlions thanks to bullet time and the ridiculously powerful AK-47 before they reached Laszlo, but apparently he is unsaveable.
I was thinking of just having the end result but I think the videos would be way too short, plus it's kind of interesting doing the whole figuring out process trying different methods and stuff. I could add a link to click to go to the attempt where I do manage to save them or something

Yeah I figured out quick loading in the next video because apparently I'm a 90 year old woman, it'll hopefully get a lot more smooth as it goes on. Thanks!
So far ive showed you to some of my friends just to spread the word, they all really enjoyed it so youre doing something right.

That's awesome, thanks dude! :D
You got a good series here, subscribed. I don't watch lets plays though.

Thanks man! I'm probably going to start phasing out the lets plays now that this has become pretty successful, they were only getting like 20 views tops and took up masses of hard drive space so it'll be a welcome change.
Oh man this reminds me of those times I'd play the original Half-Life and try to save the scientists and guards I'd come across. One time I gathered all the scientists(about 6 of them) in the tram/office area and we all went in an elevator together to the next area. When the doors opened we were greeted by a grenade launcher round from a Grunt waiting on the other side. Gibs everywhere.

Whether or not you want to, this is hilarious.
Of course, I could just be a total dick and the beams are actually infrared and that Gordon/Shephard can only see them because of their gear.
[sp]But what about Calhoun?[/sp] Fuck you.
I tried to save that scientist once in Black Mesa, and he got stuck in the door and exploded.

one time early on after the cascade, i was rescuing so many scientists and guards it was like it was a damned parade, rooms would just be filled to the brim with people
i like these, they make me want to play HL2 again for some reason

I'd do that too oh man, one time I made a detailed notepad file of like the scientist/guard number, where they were found, if they could be saved, when they would stop following you etc etc
I could have been out kissing girls or something but w/e
Maybe some parts where marines die in Halo 1? I remember a part when you board the covenant ship where one gets stabbed by one of the elites with the energy swords. Might be fun to try

You can actually save him and he'll congratulate you for it.

I don't think I've ever gotten past the 2nd mission of the original Halo but I'll give it a go, I seem to remember a shit ton of marines dying in the flood level of Halo 3(?) but that's an Xbox exclusive so that'll be more difficult to record
I think I remember something in NOLF or NOLF2 where someone dies and you can't save them...
I'll try to remember tomorrow
Oh man this series has the potential to be great.
Cant believe it hasnt been done before.
try as hard as you want
you cant save legion.
Would Malik from DE:HR count? Technically she's not scripted to die, it's more of an optional "do it if you can" mission.

Hmm, I try to focus more on less important characters who aren't meant to get any further in the game but I can add her to the list for when I've finished all the other ideas. From what I can remember it was a pain in the arse trying to save her though

Who's legion I'll save them don't tell me what I can't do
Going through hl2 again sometime soon, will see what I can find.
All I can remember right now are those zombies just past the ravenholm tunnels (?) that get shot by the overwatch sniper. Might require ABH though, but its worth a shot.

For a moment I thought you spoiled part of the main story.
You could have used stacked crates to get past the ladder in part 1.
AFAIK from my last attempt at saving the guy you can't move the bigger crates without the gravity gun, regardless he's most likely scripted to die anywhere past that point before the ladder too :(
Try to save everyone in[sp]Metro 2033.[/sp]

Hmmmmmm, unfortunately we can't save Bourbon which is the worst thing to ever happen in the history of forever but there may be a few I can have a go at saving. Those guys defending the gates to that destroyed station are the only ones that spring to mind

Some are scripted to die so you can't but you can go through the game without killing a single human iirc.

That probably involves a lot of stealth and I'm borderline retarded when it comes to any sort of stealth section
I don't know if you have morrowind but there's a scripted event there and when you walk close enough a guy falls out from the sky. I think it's just as you leave the town you start in to the north, you could try saving him
i actually tried to save some marines in Halo 2 by kicking them out of a scorpion during the mission when the first scarab completely obliterates it in the middle of the street in front of the building you walk into.
for some reason marines kept showing up to get in as i kicked them out resulting in a inevitable death of the crew but a huge army of marines that showered on every trace of covenant

You can actually easily save that guy by saving just before he hits the ground and loading, he will then be fine and survive.

I remember as a kid I would time it just right so that the scientist would get stuck under the closing blast door and would just get stuck and start going "ooh, ow, oooh" keeping the door propped open for me.
