You could try saving that one elf in Morrowind who always falls to his death near the first village.
I read your mind earlier today apparently
What about the humans before the aliens start teleporting them in DNF? you can get out the vehicle

Maybe I'll pick it up and have a go, DNF is going for like 5p nowadays
I've got a request, it's from Opposing Force. It's the part right after you(and Otis the guard) see a Barney and scientist get attacked by a Shock Trooper. After that you run into an elevator and there is a grunt at the top. He's meant to get killed by 2 vortigaunts that spawn up there with him but he's savable(it's hard to do, involves a well placed grenade, and timing the vortigaunt spawn)
I think I remember the bit you're on about, should be both a pain in the arse and a decent video! I'll see if I can think of more Blue Shift and Opposing Force ones too
edit : also the captions on that video are objectively the best things to have ever happened

The wizard from the morrowind video looks like Ricky from trailer park boys
I also saved Roggvir sort of but not really
YT randomly took away my ability to do custom thumbnails so until I get that back no crudely photoshopped pictures :(

I was kinda hoping you wouldn't use the save method for saving the falling wizard.
Oh I saved that guy once. Then the town attacked me and I died.
I would really like to see this idea stepped up a notch. That being to mod the games, change scripts not to kill characters and stuff.

I can barely print hello world in Pascal I don't think that'll be coming up anytime soon
I would like to see Eli get saved at the end of Episode 2, but that involves noclipping and killing the Advisors behind the hanger. It breaks the scene and the game doesn't end. Still, the idea's out there, so make use of it if you want.

Oh and this series is great. I can't wait to see more. Definitely subscribed.

Wait they can be killed? That works? Sod it I'm putting that up as a second video tonight
And thanks man! <3
Can you do Republic Commando? We sure could use your help sir!
I think this is most of the NPCs you can save:
-Several clone troopers in the first level of Extreme Prejudice
-Several clone troopers in the first level of Rescue the Squad
-That astromech droid that the Trandoshans kill in the room where you save Sev (I think the level's Troika)
-Four Wookiees in the prison levels
-One Wookiee in the very beginning of the Bridge at Kachirho
-Tarfful's guard in V.I.W. (he picks up and SBD and kills it if he isn't killed by Trandoshans)
-The Wookiees in the Hangars (there's maybe five or six in the one with the dispensers and then another few in the one where the bodyguards attack)
-The Wookiees in the Ammo Dumps (Geonosians always got mine)
-Sev at the end
There's a few more with noclip.

Oh man I've never played RC before, this'll be a great excuse to pick it up. I'll definitely give them a try!

Have you tried escorting Miguel in Deus Ex out of the prison?
I got him all the way to the surface. It was probably one of the best experiences I've had in a game. Miguel only has a knife, dies very quickly, and will run off to stab guards at the first sight of them. Upon entering the robot storage facility Miguel did exactly that, and I lost sight of him, and assumed he had been killed. I cleared out the bottom floor of the robot facility and couldn't see evidence of him anywhere, none of the corpses were his. I went up to the next level and someone came running down the stairwell at me. It was Miguel, at least 10 minutes after I first lost sight of him. The upper floor was littered with bodies. Miguel had somehow, probably via a glitch, single handedly killed about ten heavily armed guards with his tiny knife, and come out unscathed.
We proceeded to the armory, where Miguel demonstrated the full extent of his foolhardiness. The armory is guarded by two heavy mechs, the kind with rocket launchers for arms, walking in a convoy in a circle around the storage unit. I sneaked past them, got into the storage, stacked my inventory full and came back out to find Miguel, walking essentially between the legs of the second robot, slashing at it with his knife. It was so futile an attack that the robot just kept walking, completely oblivious to his presence.
This was a problem. Miguel couldn't kill the robot, and he won't leave until it's dead. I want to get him to the surface, so the robot has to die. Robots explode when they die, and the splash would kill Miguel. Thankfully the AI is smart enough to run from grenades. This took a few tries, which either resulted in Miguel dying or attacking me for hurting him, but I eventually got a grenade at the right position for Miguel to run far enough to not get hurt, and destroy the robot. The second robot turned around to be greeted with a follow-up rocket, and with both robots dead, Miguel was following me again and we got to the surface without incident.

He was on the list of people to try and save but I had no idea it was even possible, nice one man!

That was beautiful. You have no idea how happy I am that you decided to do it.
[editline]11th July 2013[/editline]
Although I really thought the Advisors could be killed, only they had like 1000 health or something.

I emptied all my revolver, crossbow and smg ammo into one of them and it just sat there taking it all, those basts are tough
Praise based Lil B, it only took like 1 and a half hours but I saved Miguel

i just wanted to make another suggestion, in metro 2033 once you get to a level called "frontline" and get into it a teensy bit, there are 2 russian soldiers executing another soldier that was fleeing (but he says he was trying to flank the nazis), i tried to help the dude but anytime i shot the one holding a gun to his head, he would just shoot right away and kill him

Added to the list, I thought everyone in Metro was scripted to die but there ~maaaay~ be a slight chance to save this fella
Also the main reason for this bump: a shit ton more videos!

By the way, I dunno if you know this but you can just type "bind v noclip" in the console and then you can press v to toggle noclip like in gmod
I really like this series btw, it's a great idea
No idea if it's possible or not (probably impossible) but have you looked into the squad of SFOD soldiers at the beginning of F.E.A.R.'s second level?

Yeah I keep forgetting to do that, I'm a dumb

Are they the guys that Alma kills when you go to press a switch or something then you come back and theyre just skeletons and blood? If so I'm pretty sure it's impossible :(

Yeah skeleton bros.
I guess their new life as skeletons is pretty swell though, they get to chill with Royzo and Ricesnot, it ain't all bad.
In the first level of the Jedi Knight expansion pack (Mysteries of the Sith) there's a buttload of rebels in a base being attacked by the empire, might be some potential save-fodder there?
Also don't worry about binding noclip to a key, I've been developing source mods and shit for years and there's like a billion commands I use like once every 2 minutes that could easily be bound and save me tons of time but I'm just too lazy to bind

Added that to the list, also gives me the chance to finally play through some Star Wars games that aren't Battlefront
also new Resi 6 video:

Hey, have you considered trying to save Emperor Uriel Septim VII?
Hey, have you considered trying to save Emperor Uriel Septim VII?
That would likely require console commands.
That would likely require console commands.
Judging by a few of his other videos, it doesn't look like he's afraid to do so.
I just did it. Only needed two console commands.
The kill command for when the assassin appears (only when he appears, otherwise the game won't let you progress).
And the "enableplayercontrols" command because otherwise you'll be stuck in the cinematic mode waiting for the king to die.
After that the game continues normally.

I did it before but didn't record it. My method involved noclipping through the wall, killing the assassin then returning to the room where the emperor is. Baurus comes in and does his scripted thing and talks to you then you can go on your way, Glenroy survives this way too so that's a plus
Boycott the Black Mesa team this scientist does nothing if you save him
