well the game is 3600 years before the movies.
KOTOR is father back than that, isn't it? It still looks like Star Wars though.
What's with the aesthetic in this trailer? Those costumes don't make me think Star Wars at all. Not in the slightest bit.
The old republic games were always about the ancient+scifi look
This game's story is fucking awful since it shits all over Revan and Kotor2
This game's story is fucking awful since it shits all over Revan and Kotor2
Well the thing is, the MMO's story takes place in an entirely separate universe so it will shit all over stuff much like how the new Cinematic universe is shitting all over Legends. Star Wars lore currently is split into 3. Cinematic, Legends and TOR which technically is Legends but its very seperated. KOTHOR and so on are in Legends and are mildly plucked out and given a refresh in TOR, bit like the re-imagining of Thrawn in the Cinematic universe.
Thrawn is hardly reimagined when they got zahn to oversee how he's developed in rebels thou they made him come in sooner rather than later.
my main issue with SWTOR is the fucking horrid F2P model that EA decided to put in as with many more EA titles they have to make sure everything is money-gated to maximize profit first they throttle your XP gain, then cap your maximum level, then make sure you don't have any access at all to any DLC packs and shove it into your face by giving you quest rewards that you can only equip with these DLC packs KOTFE chapter one was recently made free, but even then i get items that i can't equip because i don't have the hutt cartel expansion a few years ago it was even worse, to the point where you had to grind massively to even level up in the game, at least now its somewhat decent with the storyline's xp nonetheless, they also increase prices from vendors if you're F2P and give you a gold cap of 200.000 credits -- which sounds like a lot, but really isn't when you look into what you should buy. the galactic market has many cosmetic items priced far, far above that (up to 6 million credits for an item) which practically no F2P or Preferred status player can buy to equip speaking of preferred, that is legitimately just a marginal upgrade from F2P. you get a higher credit cap and are allowed to sprint and talk in more chats at level 1, use a bank and get a "medium login priority" which is useless until a patch hits here is a full comparison between all statuses call me a whiny cunt but i feel swtor's f2p model is absolute garbage

TOR is a sequel to Kotor1&2 so it's Legends and not canon as much as Bioware wants it to be

Its doing the same as what they're doing with the Cinematic universe... It will give him his new backstory.
