These videos always make me smile ear to ear. Something so simple can bring so much joy. I also love the videos where deaf people hear sound for the first time, it's so heart warming.
I'd love to get these, but I'm only a mild-protan and they don't have a prescription version for my Rx.
I find it really strange and scary that some people can't see all the colors.

If I didn't know the original image, or that it showed a landscape, I'd call the landscape in the filtered version a dull yellow / ochre and the sky a dull purple/pink.
And yes, your rainbow is missing an entire color (green).

I'm not sure if they can simulate the effect using a computer monitor. There's some pretty crazy technology behind those things.

No, I've known since like 15 and it's been tested multiple times by doctors.
I've only learned how bad it actually is after I started researching it a bit. I didn't know it was as extreme, I was just labeled "RG colorblind" and told it's actually pretty common in men. I was never told about the severity though.
And I did do the test. Extreme deutan is what I get. Here's a repost of the link I put on the first page:
