They look pretty grotesque imo. [editline]5th November 2012[/editline] If they like it and they worked to get it more power to them but none for me thanks
Zyzz wasn't even that big. Far from being bodybuilder huge or grotesque. He's big compared to the average person who doesn't lift, but he's right around the size of most male fitness models. Nobody looks at guys like Greg Plitt and Lazar Angelov and thinks they're grotesque, unless you have a pretty broken idea of what the ideal human body looks like. To say someone who looks like a Greek god statue is grotesque is a really silly mindset, in my opinion. [img_thumb]http://markandrewholmes.com/poseidon_sculpture.jpg[/img_thumb]
Zyzz is more muscle-bulgy than that statue, and that's more buff than the average Greek male statue.
Like I said, he isn't as big as you think. Yeah, he looks huge when it's just him in a picture with good lighting and flexing, but he wasn't big at all. Zyzz was never about size, just overall aesthetics. [img_thumb]http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/1406/dsc01169large.jpg[/img_thumb] Greek god statues tend to be more muscular than statues of mortals, because they represented a level of aesthetic beauty mortals could not achieve at the time.
are you guys really idolizing a roided up narcissist meathead like yeah he was fit but you could build a robot that had the same level of human emotion and complexity by putting in a little talkbox that just says "check my abs" and "you mirin brah" on loop

[editline]5th November 2012[/editline] Though not by too much in either case.

[editline]5th November 2012[/editline] If they like it and they worked to get it more power to them but none for me thanks
I have to agree. From a female perspective, bulging muscles and abs like his...really don't appeal to me. I care more about someone's health rather than how many hours they can clock in at a gym. As long as a person isn't morbidly obese or unhealthily underweight, I couldn't care less about a body and if anything, the fitness freaks tend to turn me off more. I find myself attracted to the average body types really.
I've heard similar things from most girls I know.
this changes everything new goal: become as unattractive as possible
nah brah, Alyx is just tryin to make ya beta cunts feel good. rip zyzz forev mirin brah, alpha as fuck
itt fat people trying to convince themselves and other fat people their lifestyle is fine
itt fat people trying to convince themselves and other fat people their lifestyle is fine
Uh there's a difference between being fat, average, and ripped. I'm personally not attracted to fat at all (I could make an exception depending on the person but they better have damn good chemistry) and I'm not attracted to ripped abs either. There is a way to go from fat to healthy without stepping foot into a gym or taking steriods though. It's called quit eating like a slob, get fruits and veggies, manage portions, and use self control. Takes a few months and you'll be down to a solid body. That's not at all what we're discussing though. Besides, overall, Zyzz comes off as just another fitness junkie with a jacked up body who tries too hard and falls short of being humorous. The only difference between him and any other body builder is that he started off as a scrawny nerd so suddenly he's acceptable and tolerable? Not really.
I think people look up to Zyzz because he inspired a group of people who otherwise would never even think of touching a weight to go out there and lift/be active. Trolling aside, he often went out of his way to help people, there's numerous stories of him and his brother helping new lifters learn lifts at the gym, taking time out of their own workouts to do it. Few people who had the chance to meet him in person have negative things to say. I don't think he's some kind of god or icon of bodybuilding. You can walk into a gym and say, "Zyzz," and most people will go, "What the fuck is that?" However, he inspired thousands of people with that "I'm good enough" mindset to break it and really go out there and try to be something while improving their health and having a good time. I think that separates him from any other bodybuilder pretty well, and makes him someone worth remembering. On top of that, he was the gateway for most people into trance music. I would have never discovered trance without Zyzz, as is the case with many people. He was passionate about spreading his love for great music as well as fitness. I'm sure a lot of trance artists out there appreciate the boost in popularity Zyzz spurred.
Looks like he's just a guy having fun and enjoying himself to me. Saying he's dead so there's nothing to be jealous of is the lamest thing to say about him, he put in the effort and worked his way up like any other bodybuilder. He encouraged people that aren't pleased with their bodies to try it themselves and get to the gym. Those are all positive things to be jealous of. Can someone not be jealous of Jack LaLanne because he's dead? It's a foolish thing to say. Be like Socrates: "No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. What a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable."
Was that Danny from the Gradual Report? I didn't know he know Zyzz.

"The only difference between him and any other body builder is that he started off as a scrawny nerd", are you serious? do you seriously think every bodybuilder besides zyzz started off ripped and swole as fuck, instead of scrawny or fat?? every bodybuilder started off scrawny or fat. the difference between zyzz and every other bodybuilder is that zyzz popularised himself using an online personality which he used to troll people for laughs, and his popularity only increased due to him having a near perfect physique in many eyes, and also inspiring thousands of people with his helpful and supporting words

He was one of my motivations to change my body, since he proved everyone that anyone can have perfect body, you just have to lift. Thus , he gave a superb advice in fitness forums where he wasn't using his troll persona. I think he was great dude. Facepunch, why do you keep thinking every muscular guy is roided meathead? Yes, he used steroids, but only when hit his personal limit. Most bodybuilders also are smarter than a normal person, since you have to know nutrition, how body works, etc. Most of them finished superb universities too.
That really isn't rocket science.
Except I've met more than my share of "normal" people who either don't care or mostly don't know about nutrition. Sure, they might know too much sugar and fat is bad, but they have no idea what ingredients contain vitamins, minerals, long-chain carbs et cetera et cetera. Overall, bodybuilding...actually no, just going to the gym and training, even if it's just to get somewhat fit and not actually bodybuilding gets you so much more acquaintanced with your body and helps you establish it as something you inhabit, not just some mass of flesh you happen to move around more or less aimlessly. It gives you information and experience about your own body and human body in general as well as food and most of the time as well as cooking.
i love how fp brands anyone who is big as a "typical muscle douchebag".
if it took you some random bodybuilder (of which there are millions) on the internet to realise maybe it's a good thing to be in shape there is something very wrong..
if it took you some random bodybuilder (of which there are millions) on the internet to realise maybe it's a good thing to be in shape there is something very wrong..
Not at all

If anyone is interested here's an interview with him: http://www.simplyshredded.com/exclusive-zyzz-interview.html Even here he says that his whole "douche" and alpha male thing was just an act.

Sounds like a likable guy...

Because apparently it's impossible for someone to put on a persona or act for the purpose of entertainment.
