This is bad, but also guys, lets be serious if SWAT is raiding his house, he must of done something bad.

It was a drug raid, but I really wouldn't take either sides.
On one hand, the guy had a golf club in his hands, poised to hit somebody, and SWAT might have thought it was a gun or something else.
Although shooting him was overkill while they could have just tasered him.
So, in my opinion both sides were kinda wrong.
Yeah, they should just put their guns away and take out the taser.
I mean, it's not like switching weapons takes time or anything, time you just don't have.
Right?
What people seem to be forgetting is that they yell "Police, search warrant." (or something like that) multiple times before trying to enter the house.
It's stupid to argue.
"They could have tazed him instead of shot him."
They are in close quarters against a man who seems to have a weapon. It could be anything from a metal pole to a rifle. They would have to take him out quicker than he could.
"Maybe he didn't know it was the cops."
If a group of people yelling "POLICE, POLICE! SEARCH WARRANT, SEARCH WARRANT!" and are in SWAT gear, would you mistake them for a robber?
I keep clicking on 0:27, where the hell did he come from?
"We" counts all the people who don't like you and all the other dicks.
Such is a question IS a proof of your own assness and dickey attitude. It's just so logical asking this question proves you are either a retard (which I doubt seeing besides your shitty superiority complex you actually have some arguments) or someone that just can't bear being contradicted by anyone.
I think you mean that the we is for any one that disagrees with you and addresses your extremely dumb generalizations about America and their police force.
No, the police force isn't as dumb as you think. I know a few police officers and they're very good people. And yes, this does happen in other countries and there are probably more police brutality incidents in Russia.
I got that but it doesn't seem to answer my question. You can still solve a problem without shooting everyone, so why aren't they doing this ? Why are they preferring to just open fire whenever it's possible ?
For fuck sake, they didn't go around shooting everyone in sight. The man was an idiot for holding up a golf club in front of the police, he easily would have heard them screaming "POLICE POLICE!" from the front door. I'm not saying the man deserves to die for being an idiot, I'm just saying that it was a reflex. If you had a gun and were expecting to be attacked by other people and then all of the sudden some guy runs out of a room with a potentially dangerous weapon, I'm sure you would have fired.
If you actually pay attention, the man comes in with a golf club which can cause serious damage to someone. He's also holding it as if he's about to hit them. Just because you are in possession of armor and better weapons doesn't mean you just sit but and let him hit you. It's better to stop him before he ends up injuring a SWAT team member.
Well, shame on that guy for having drugs then.

:psyduck:
Why are you even discussing this? These guys are not your average patrol cops. Groups like SWAT exist because
these people are supposed to react focused and collected in situations like those. A scared bystander in a raid is
not an uncommon thing. Specially trained police units have to recognize situations like that and react accordingly.
Otherwise you could just give guns in the hands of patrol cops and have them shoot everyone in the house.
PEW PEW PEW
Hes already on the floor
GET ON THE GROUND
Such is life when you manage to get a swat team in your house.
Swat team members are basically trained to shoot anything that is carrying an object.

Why would you assume that? Bad according to whom? How often do these 'legal' raids happen in error? What happens when it's your home? Do the innocent have any protection whatsoever?
Read some of Aldous Huxley's and George Orwell's works, then top it off with Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. The blueprints for America's future can be pieced together from them.

Even if this was a legal raid made in error (which it wasn't), why the fuck would anybody be stupid enough to jump out with a golf club in an aggressive stance? They clearly said several times POLICE, SEARCH WARRANT. SWAT members aren't trained to try to judge on a scale how effective a weapon the person is holding, they're trained to eliminate anything that is considered an immediate threat. Jumping out with a club in the dark in an aggressive stance seems like a threat to me
I'd shoot any terrorist in CS:S, even if he is just holding a knife :downs:

The supposed legality of the warrant doesn't matter. Nor does someone yelling official blather.
There is a larger impact here - the state/government is forcibly invading what is supposed to be a free individual's property.
Even disregarding all of the other arguments, why raid in the middle of the night? What purpose does that serve? Did the individual in question never leave the premises? Would it have been impossible to apprehend him outside of the property? Was the location under observation?
There are too many questions at every point. It doesn't even matter what was supposedly illegal, as this is the kind of thing that induces fear in a population that should not be afraid of its own leadership.
I call bullshit when I see it, and this is bullshit regardless of whether a man died or not, regardless of whether there were drugs involved and regardless of state-sanctioned legality.
Freedom is not an issue to be doled out on the whims of an individual. If there is no consistency, no integrity in the respect of freedom, there is only tyranny.
Guys, try to think of this one from the perspective of the cops. When they go into a situation like this, they know that there is a significant chance that they could die. Each moment they don't act could be their last, like if he had had a knife or a gun. These guys are really brave and they go through tons of training, but they are human, and they do have fear. If I went into a suspected drug raid and saw a man jump out with a shiny object that I couldn't see, I would certainly try to subdue him somehow. Now, I would probably have used a taser, but maybe the officer who saw him first didn't have one equipped or easily fireable? It's just we don't know the fear they feel each time they go into a dangerous situation.
The deaf guy being shot in broad daylight, however, was fucking horseshit.
Reminds me of this

lol
Now let's see who wants to make an exemption for celebrities.
hey guys check out my golf sw-
The cops did yell POLICE SEARCH WARRANT quite a few times. In that time he could have easily put down the golf club and sat down. See a whole bunch of men in black suits with guns, don't go running at them with a weapon. Police have the ability to fire when they feel their lives are at risk, and the cops don't have time to examine the weapon. So they did what was right and fired. It was obviously the perps fault....
Trigger happy fuckers. He didn't even try to hit them. He just stood there. I thought deadly force was a LAST resort. Fuck, ever heard of beanbags, tasers, mace, ect? I mean, they didn't even have to shoot to kill.
I hate how Police officers get so much shit these days from pretty much everyone.
Is there anyone who has any clue of what's going on and why this kind of thing even happened in the first place? I doubt it.
Placate the masses by entertaining them, toss a misdirecting debate out once in a while to keep them distracted and suck their productive endeavors dry while they mentally masturbate amongst themselves until they wake up one day with barely a pot to piss in.
It's no wonder why the western world is so bum-fucked when people are mired in details that are effectively symptoms of a greater issue.
How is it possible that so many intelligent people can be so blind to their own destruction? It's as if we're saying the top floor of the house is on fire, but since the main floor is still untouched, it must be fine to stay there.
I hope at least one person on these forums wakes the F up and does something instead of prattling on like a naive teenager with a head full of fixes for all the world's problems.
Just for the record, I used to entertain the idea that capitalism was the "wrong way" and that corporations were the evil of our time while the government was necessary to give us all a better life. Reality check: financial institutions and governments are the points from which every cultural, economic and societal problem is made worse.
Wake up.

You're mature.
Why not shoot him in the leg, god damn it.
Besides, claiming that the police scream "Police! Search Warrant!" and therefor justifies this is bullshit. Anyone with a mouth can say that, even robbers.
When some of you people claim that the SWAT team did nothing wrong, you fucking disgust me. These are so called "trained" police men, they should know better.

Because its easy to miss.
Because robbers are too dumb to shout Search Warrant
Stop trying to sound like a smart arse, Its not as though you can do any better in that situation.

I figured after it was said for about the hundredth that people would catch on. POLICE OFFICERS ARE TRAINED TO SHOOT TO INCAPACITATE THE SUSPECT IMMEDIATELY. Aiming for the leg or arms is not a tactic used in real life.
You're mature.
It fits in with the juvenile bantering in this thread and got your attention.
If it got you to think about whether the government-sanctioned home invasion should have occurred in the first place is another matter.

This.
Would have shot too.
I would've shot too if i was drilled to be trigger happy and take no risks.
I don't blame the cops involved. I blame the training. But i do understand that this behavior is exactly what they need because people can and will shoot back at times.
I just hope i won't be holding anything while they bust my door down. Granted they ever would.
