Holy crap, strange how much everyone agrees on this category, look at all the top 3s.
Neogaf just HAS to be different.
I really don't think it's strange. The VGAs could be considered an example of garbage 'journalism', and that's the reason the /v/GAs exist. If you're voting in it, you probably come in with bias.
Granted, it's justified bias. Games 'journalism' is seriously such a deplorable field.
Man, they best rename that shit to the /v/g-GAY awards.
Seems FP really likes Dishonered compared to the rest.
Yeah Dishonored seems to have been the Hotline Miami for FP. It's interesting how often an award is split between /v/ and non-/v/. Look at this:
-For Most Hated, /v/ was in agreement that Mass Effect 3 was the worst game of 2012. Non-/v/, however, universally agreed that The WarZ was the worst, though Facepunch and NeoGAF both had ME3 as runner up.
-For Blunder of the Year, /v/ universally chose TORtanic F2P. All non-/v/ sources once again chose The WarZ
-For /v/irgin, /v/ picked Hotline Miami. All non-/v/ sources chose dishonored, though Facepunch and NeoGAF once again both had /v/'s choice as their runner up
-For Lods of Emone, all of /v/ picked Tropes vs. Women in Video Games. All non-/v/ sources chose The WarZ again, even Reddit, surprisingly.
On the other hand Facepuch did stand out in a couple of categories:
-FP and Reddit were the only groups to chose Dishonored over Hotline Miami for the BUZZWORD award.
-FP and Reddit also the only two dissenters in the Hyperbole category, though they weren't in agreement. FP chose GTA5, Reddit chose FF14:ARR
-FP was the ONLY group to chose Dishonored over Journey for the STYLISH! award. Even Reddit went with the popular choice this time.
-FP was one of the two groups that didn't choose Diana Allers for the FUCK YOU award, but this time Reddit wasn't the other one, it was Twitter. Both chose Star Child.
damn that was awful, /v/ is everything that is wrong with this 'culture'
damn that was awful, /v/ is everything that is wrong with this 'culture'
I'm sure they would say the exact same thing about you, and they'd be just as right, too.
damn that was awful, /v/ is everything that is wrong with this 'culture'
/v/ didn't want this, either. They loathe it.
/v/ didn't want this, either. They loathe it.
they hate everything, /v/gas aren't even that bad its better than spikes bullshit award
at least the spike awards arent so pretentious lol
The /v/GAs make me sad because it reminds me that a lot of "gamers" now have forgotten how to enjoy games, and seem to be more interested acting like special snowflakes with superiority complexes to make up for their disappointment in themselves and their refusal to grow up.
I'm sorry but I'm too busy improving myself to have cry because people actually like Call of Duty and Mass Effect 3, they might be terrible games but if people actually like them then I'm not going to try and be some kind of arm chair warrior defending a quality of gaming that's nigh impossible.
[editline]9th March 2013[/editline]
Of course I'm not saying gamers shouldn't have standards, it's just that /v/ expects every game to meet a standard that's almost impossible to meet, and when a great games does come out, they pick the shit out of any flaws till there's no joy left and cry because they can't enjoy it.

I'm sure people thought the same in 2004, and it continues to be like that to this day, but then you have to realize there are games that make up for it, just like back then. We got Half Life, Red Dead Redemption, Metal Gear, and the list goes on, but I can completely understand.
Ether way I love the /v/GAs for what they are, the Pooh Bear sketch is the funniest shit I've ever seen.

What was even pretentious about this.
Awards were nice, better than expected, glad they filtered other sites.

everybody rails on corrupt journalism, but the folks at reddit, facepunch, neogaf, and /v/ to an extent all fall for it
hated it less than last year

Everyone falls for it.
Its pretty rampant and almost nobody takes it seriously.

literally nothing
I found myself skipping most of the skits.
I quite liked it.
