If you're talking about olden times, then you're dumb. marraige at a young age (<14) was common back then. Back then women had any rights anyways really. Wrong. Muhammad was a well-respected man in his time. Also, he married a young girl because at that time, if you were a widow you would have nothing. You needed a male "guardian" of sorts (husband, father, etc.)
