Alright, I thought someone else would have brought this up already, but I guess I'll have to be the one to look at this seriously. What is the point with the homoerotic focus? It's one thing to make use of double entrandes as a subtle way of lampshading something to be taken in a sexual manner. It's another thing to make every plot point and every line the "butt" of a Freudian joke. When a work of satire blends these two to the point of making them indistinguishable from each other, and sexualizing every aspect of a work, it risks losing its focus and suffering from a lack of respect for the audience. Mel Brooks did a great job of balancing these extremes in films like Blazing Saddles, and Spaceballs. This approach shifts the story to the backburner and more closely resembles the effects one undergoes when watching an old B movie, like The Beast of Yucca Flats, or a more contemporary movie like Jack and Jill. What happens is the audience ceases to care about the characters or the plot, and treats it like a bad joke. The humor used in series like Freeman's Mind, Moments With Heavy, or the Gmod Idiot Box are more clever not because they have a better sense of humor, but because they have a VARIETY of humor and they know how to balance zany comedy without taking it to the point of senselessness. This video still had lines that made me laugh, but they were placed in between long drawn out sexual imagery, and I think it could have been funnier if it was a shorter length or had more intelligent ways of inciting laughter. Just my take on it.
Dude the series is called "Gorgeous Freeman" Homoeroticism is the whole premise. The title card even has a silhouette of a penis and balls in it. If you can't handle the sexual imagery, maybe you should just not watch this series.
because it's funny case closed
