• A Time-Lapse of Every Nuclear Explosion Since 1945

Kinda lost interest when the US pulled away from Russia as there was no competition anymore, they were pretty close at one point. France didn't fuck around either.

One test in USA is always followed by a test in Russia. It looks like they are trying to scare each other by detonating nuclear weapons in their own country. There's something strangely eerie about this. [editline]23rd May 2012[/editline] Oh wow, everyone was done playing in the early 1990's, and China was still trying to provoke everyone.
That was really cool, makes me wonder; why the FUCK did we have to see what a nuclear explosion was like so many times?
Intercontinental dick-waving.
Most of those were probably testing nuclear technology rather than attempts to provoke anyone, same with France.
Well, you can see a bit of a trend, when China and India got nuclear capability, you see a large influx of nuclear testing across the world. Also, watch when Pakistan tested their first weapon, India blew up 3 in rapid succession. Although it's mostly just testing the technology, I think the urgency of testing is increased by neighbors and rivals developing nuclear technology. Also, it provides a somber warning to anyone thinking about attacking you, because it shows that you have a very active nuclear program and the testing helps imply you are in a constant state of readiness and willingness to use your weapons if you need to.
that wasn't a nuclear explosion. It wasn't even an explosion.
It was an explosion, just not nuclear, the explosion was what released the nuclear material into the atmosphere.
