RuneScape 2012 trailer - General

Holy shit, this game brings back so much memories. My first and only account was stolen from me because I was an idiot and thought that somebody was part of Jagex support.

I played runescape when I was 11-12, I forgot my password and changed it to the usual password that I used. (Turns out it was the same one that was already active.) so they permabanned me. Even the 12 year old me knew that was bullshit.

I had never played any game like that before when I was young so I thought it was amazing until I played an actual MMO. Then I couldn't play it for five minutes without being bored to tears.

To be fair, Runescape is a fairly solid and popular MMORPG.

I lol'ed when the archer guy smirked before he shot the arrow.

The cinematic trailer was definitely pretty sweet. Never ever played Runescape in my life, I didn't get into MMOs until at a later age.

Played the beta, it's horseshit. They've tried to go WoW / Standard MMO style with abilities, and kept the old click interface - completely impossible to use.

Why the fuck would they make a trailer with graphics and gameplay that would never happen in the actual game.

I remember making like 20m from people trying to drop trade (dropping all valuables on the floor to trade to another account) and from one guy who died with expensive ass armour when afk. I would just do some boring activity and walk around looking for people logging out in weird spoits and people logging back in on that spot.

Man the nostalgia. I've tried getting back into it once or twice but I can't get past the grind. Not to mention I gave away my high level account to a friend.

I had a friend who would install keyloggers at the computers in the library just to steal people's runescape accounts.

I don't really like the kiddie look they went for but I guess it's ideal for their target audience.

Then came the night when a guy found out how to intercept trade packets from the server and edit them and so a bunch of pink partyhats got duplicated. I got banned because of that because a friend transferred like 100 of them to my account and I was going to transfer to his other account but he ended up getting banned before I could and I got banned shortly after. Was real fun.

You know, I may pick it up again. I may as well grind while studying, its not like clicking on a tree and waiting takes any brain power. And if I really start to enjoy it again I might plop down a month or two of membership. I also remember the time when my computer lagged while playing the game on lowest settings. Those were the days.
