"slightly ugly" characters are one thing unnatural and robotish is another
I wonder if they used that "I'm only humeen" song as a reaction to the bad press it's almost possible going by that "my face is tired" thing, but just the thought of it makes me curl up in cringe this game is a mess

It's in relation to the main character being inexperienced green boy/girl in charge of a huge effort, seemingly inadequate to the task, it's their entire shtick with these characters. In case someone doubted it, I just have to get it written down to feel better. If I sound salty and unreasonably angry over their retarded music choice that might be because I am.

A concept rarely practiced in game development.

So from what I'm gathering this game is way beyond the usual somewhat charming BioWare jank?? The previous games all had issues particularly with animations but this seems remarkably bad by comparison.

I was wondering what this reminded me of... And then it hit me. Disney's animatronic Lincoln. Although I now realize that there might be more nuance and emotion in the Lincolnbot than there is in the entirety of this game.

The quality hasn't changed that much, our perception of the company making it has.

It's the main point of the game. The animations are worse than Bethesda. Bethesda did a better job with a detailed character creator and overall NPC appearances than """"Bioware""" has in their newest release. I say """Bioware""" because the development of Andromeda was handed off to the company's C-team, none of the main developers behind the first three games worked on Andromeda and they handed the last saving grace of a wonderful franchise to a bunch of first-timers and rookies fresh out of college. The game was doomed from the beginning. EDIT I will still play it because it's Mass Effect, but my expectations are low. The gameplay looks solid and I quite like the visuals. As long as I can keep my squad a bunch of faceless goons with masks I'll be happy.

While yes they did have a shit ton of new people, they also had people who'd been there since ME2.

Not to mention the Citadel-esque Nexus, which is just plain implausible considering how one-of-a-kind the Citadel was (with plot reasons), and yet the Initiative managed to ship off this massive space station with their arks that was still under construction over 600 years later. It reads like a fanfiction trying to distance itself as much as possible from Mass Effect 3's ending. And yet the game constantly has winks and nods to pre-existing characters, not to mention [sp]voiced lines from old recordings just.. there I guess,[/sp] though I lack context on this.

Fucking hell, an ending to a trilogy being so destructive it required some massive retcons.
There would be distinct and even 'easy' ways of putting everything back together in a manner most people would probably accept, but first BW would likely have to farm the entire process out, because they can't seem to make a game without ramming politics, and I don't mean "generally how people deal with the world as societies", I mean push button right then topical braying down anyone's throat who's unfortunate enough to be nearby. They've been forest-for-tree for a decade now, and companies that do this do not last, no matter how big.

I caught some of TB's multiplayer stream and every time you use an ability or perform advanced movement the camera blasts back for no reason, it's incredibly grating to look at.
