Why is Batman fighting Superman anyway?
Because he pretty much destroyed metropolis and gotham(apparently gotham is really close to metropolis) gotham is the low end, so I'd presume he's angry
Batman too stronk
Why is Batman fighting Superman anyway?
did you not watch the trailer? batman thinks superman is a threat to mankind and needs to be stopped, i don't think they could've made that any clearer
We're talking about DC trying to make a Cinematic universe in the same vein as Marvel. Man of Steel is the first entry in this universe so don't be stupid.
Also posting Half in the Bag? Whats the point of posting someone else's opinion? You watched the movie, the guy you're quoting watched the movie, RLM isn't the end all and be all of movie reviews (Ofc you didn't say they are) so why are you posting them?
Because they make good points, also regarding Zack Snider and his history of movies.
What is the guy on the right doing??
Looks like he is doing some sick dance moves

Yeah that's clear but I thought maybe there was a deeper reason explained in like comics or something. Is Batman upset that Superman destroyed stuff or is there more to it than that?

in the comics this is based from there is a bit more of a backstory, yes
basically, in that universe, batman has been a vigilante for decades and is at the end of his career, he also hasn't been seen in action for quite some time. he snaps and decides to go back to doing his thing, and at the end, for reasons i can't really give away without spoiling it (i guess "to prove a point" could be a good description, maybe?) he decides to fight superman, who at this point has become a government henchman. he does everything he's told, fights wars for america and like kimchimafia said, it's the most evil he's been without exactly breaking his moral code. basically, batman has always had kind of a "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely" philosophy and in his eyes, supes is as corrupt as he's ever been

Did Batman eat Bane?
This looks like it could be good, but it looks too crowded. People complained about Amazing Spider-Man 2, and that didn't even have half the shit it looks like they're going to cram into this.
uhhhhh
why is Batman killing anyone a "fuck yeah" thing? or are those guys not killable or something? I'm confused. Batman straight up killing a dude is a bit of an assassination of character imo.
Batman killed the joker in the Killing Joke
Did Batman eat Bane?
Well it is based on the dark knight returns where Batman is beefy as fuck.

Batman - "Don't worry, it's just a sleeper move, it might have just looked like I snapped his neck like a twig, but nope... He's asleep"

I only just noticed that there are like Superman regime guards in the trailer, like from Injustice. Wonder what's going on with that.

Dream sequence I'm assuming, showing you just how bad Superman could possibly get.
Orrr

I thought Joe had a pretty awesome theory on the Superman Soldiers.

now I want a flashpoint movie where he plays thomas wayne batman
Oh my god yes. It would basically be like Shoot 'Em Up again but even crazier (I'm assuming that's Clive Owen)

Snyder said at the panel that he was inspired by the Injustice series as well as The Dark Knight Returns.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan who played The Comedian in Watchmen
Where did I say Superman is at the head of his own army? Like I said its probably a group funded by Lex to cause distrust between Supes and the populace. Lex's area which is shown in the trailer to be trashed by bullets is most likely to exempt suspicion from himself. Superman doesn't even have to claim them because all that will matter is there are a group of people fighting under his banner.
Who said they're tracking Batman down? They could just be in Iraq (Seriously, "wasteland" guys. This is like someone taking a pic of Africa and your response is "Wow, what Mad Max movie is that from?", relax) starting shit and Bat's following them because he's against Supes in the first place for destroying a Wayne Tower building. He has motive now lets make it stronger throughout the movie leading up to the climax, makes sense? Not to mention he probably doesn't want them shitting up unstable areas like the Middle East. The whole army God among us thing being his biggest fear anyway. Plus it being fictional Iraq (Knowing DC its prob Kahndaq. I've never seen a place in DC that isn't Kahndaq covered in sand. Barring Black Adam its probably why that place exists)
Just follow up with the same shit they did in the New 52 as the "why does Supes look like an asshole?"

Boom you have the U.S. Government getting attacked for Supes, who's from the U.S., traveling to another country with an army behind him
That way we don't have to deal with a stupid dream nonsense and instead we can tie up Lex as manipulating the public perception of Superman and causing a major fight between him and Batman as a side effect.
It's the only way anything in this trailer can make sense without shitty excuses. "The red capes are coming, the red capes are coming", cringy lines like that actually make sense when Lex controls a army masquerading to defame Superman who's group moniker is based on Supe's red cape.
The entire debacle most likely leading the Senator to greenlighting the project to do whatever the hell he's planning to do with Zod as well as the creation of Kryptonite.
Also why would anyone ever borrow inspiration from Injustice? Do people really take that garbage comic seriously? It's basically a more stupid Civil War. Not like it would even be borrowing from Injustice in the first place. Superman having an army isn't anything new
Hell with that train of thought that entire scene takes more from Superman Red Son than anything else. Even the costume feels like a desert version of Batmankoff.
It's not that you guys are overthinking this. It's that some of you are being really lazy. Shit like "How are they gonna introduce so many characters" or "It's a dream sequence".
The whole dream idea hasn't even been proven in this same thread where it was mentioned.
Not to mention Red Capes is just a parody of Red Coats. The whole line has connotations with the army. It's obvious what that's implying
i love you
Lex Luthor has too much hair
Only so radiation can make him bald.
Love the SS look they've gone for on superman troops.

Eh, I guess.
Sorry if it's a tad off-topic, but just now have watched "The Dark Knight Returns Part 1" and oh my god it is such a good Batman movie. I felt ecstatic at the end of the first part. Anyone who didn't watch it and might want something to hype himself for the movie - do it.
Yeah it's soooo good
Part 3 is coming this year
Probably

The only thing that's really not working for me in this trailer is the Jesse Eisenberg Lux Luther.
"The red capes are coming" is a dumb line, imo.
Would of been better if they picked Bryan Cranston and made Lex older.
Would have been fine if Spacy did Lex again since he was the only good thing about Superman Returns.
Would of been better if they picked Bryan Cranston and made Lex older.
The actor they picked looks deliberately young and immature with hair so that when he goes bald it draws a starker contrast.
Jesse Einsenberg looks spot on when fully bald.
