Freedom of speech was a mistake.
Yes but my point is that we can choose not to regulate transactions between private parties, and the economy at large, without abolishing the state altogether i.e. anarchism.
yeah, no thanks dude
yeah, no thanks dude
I'm just stating the difference between two different political ideas, you don't need to turn it into an debate.
I'm just stating a difference between two different concepts, you don't need to turn it into an debate.
so by suggesting we do something that aligns with your ideology you're not asking for a discussion or anything?
so by suggesting we do something that aligns with your ideology you're not asking for a discussion or anything?
I wasn't suggesting anything. I assume that you interpeted "we can choose" as "we should", but that's not what I meant. My point is that there are critical differences in advocating laissez faire and advocating anarcho-capitalism.
Not regulating transactions between private parties doesn't equate not having rule of law. You're confusing regulations with law in general.
That's exactly what i was saying, though my wording sucked.
I like Shkreli; he's ridiculously intelligent and he knows his business. What he's doing is no different than any other big Pharmaceutical company, and as said earlier in the thread; he's made Daraprim a lot more accessible to those in need; even though he's trying to outright kill off the drug and replace it. I think what people hate about him is the fact that he's a huge troll. He knows most people are fucking idiots and don't actually do research (as seen in the OP's video) so he enjoys watching them squirm. If you pay attention to him he only reflects back what he's being given. Hence, why the HIV guy was able to have a civilized discussion with him. You treat Shkreli with respect and he will reciprocate; just don't come at him with bullshit.
He has probably the most punchable face I've ever seen too.
creep
I don't subscribe to the whole reciprocal respect idea. If you stoop to the other person's level, you are no better, if not worse, than them. It bothers me is that Shkreli doesn't try to make people understand. He toys with them instead. There have been plenty of threads on Shkreli on Facepunch, most users are aware that he's not an idiot, and that he jacked up prices but gave the medication out for free if they couldn't afford it. He's obviously knowledgeable about how the pharma industry works. Of course there are some in this thread who haven't done their research, that's always a given. I don't side with the woman in this video because she's obviously someone who hasn't looked into his full background. But it seems the majority of the thread keep repeating the same "it's so frustrating that people won't take a minute to research past the media depiction of him" lines over and over. Okay, perhaps I can see why a good number of you like him, but don't nullify what others have to say because we don't. Consider that there are some of us who don't like him for his smugness, immaturity, and for most of the time, his lack of professionalism. This video, his congressional hearing, and especially his twitter are testaments of these traits. I simply can't respect someone who rarely tries to reason with or feel compassion for the other side. Yes of course he has intelligent discussions, but his ego-maniacal guise doesn't do any favors for him or those who accuse him.
He's currently live on hitbox http://www.hitbox.tv/martinshkrelilive
he has some interesting chemistry and finance videos on his channel
;51576560']I simply can't respect someone who rarely tries to reason with or feel compassion for the other side. You can see it in this thread. As soon as they think they understand the situation, they will go so far out of their way to not be proven wrong that trying to argue with them is a enormous waste of time for someone that needs to run a company and has multiple court dates they need to plan for and attend. You're holding him to some higher standard for manners because he's rich I guess, which is ridiculous. Dude didn't do anything wrong. He doesn't owe anybody a debate or the time of day.
if you think Shkreli is a bad guy, you're just buying into propaganda based on incomplete or inaccurate information. literally falling for it.
name one objectively, evident, and demonstrably BAD thing he's done that effected anyone
name one objectively, evident, and demonstrably BAD thing he's done that effected anyone
Can you not accept that someone may not like someone that you like? That is entirely different than hating them, actively disliking them, or a variety of other things that almost seem to be implied here? I just don't like him. Do I dislike him? No, I just don't see why I should like him, or care. He's not harming people obviously but that doesn't mean I like him and his behaviour but you seem to have a problem accepting that?

Nobody cares about you not liking Shkreli, we get it. You've been awkwardly rambling about how neutral you are toward him for the past 2 days, get on with it.
:snip:

So stop fucking reading it.
Lads, please
It's the same premise regardless
No but the person you responded to was talking to someone arguing that Shkreli is a bad person. So your comment has absolutely nothing to do with the conversation. Edit: Not trying to police you I just don't think you understood what that guy was arguing and your reply seemed kind of hostile.
It's the same premise regardless
Dude you've been really slipping the past few weeks.
thank god trump won the wu tang album lives

alright sorry I made a bad post I get it
name one objectively, evident, and demonstrably BAD thing he's done that effected anyone
he hasnt released the entire wu tang album
he hasnt released the entire wu tang album
iirc hes under contract, he literally cant unless he wants to get the shit sued out of him.
iirc hes under contract, he literally cant unless he wants to get the shit sued out of him.
He said he owns all rights to it in a VICE interview. He's said he could burn it, keep it, or release it if he wants.
if he wants.
its almost like he can do whatever he wants with his property. he has no obligation to you. it doesnt matter if he made a twitter post, he can choose not to release it. or theres the possibility he is actually under contract.
why does that make him an asshole? is it because you feel you are owed something? [editline]26th December 2016[/editline] If I said I would pay every person here $20 and then the next day chose not to, am I also an asshole?
Im sorry that you feel so entitled to other peoples personal belongings.
