That's the main role of an LMG. I mean upclose and with the right circumstances several well positioned LMGs could do more damage than 200 men with just rifles.

Couldn't be, those usually have those ammo boxes, it looked more like when the guy tossed him ammo, it was more of a drum.

That's scary as hell. You can see a few bullets flying overhead if you pay attention. and bullets fly fast and the camera obviously doesn't record that many frames per second.
Each one can kill someone, Jesus.
That's what bullets do. They kill, and they've been pretty good at it for a long time.

Well obviously if you have the chance with an LMG to kill you take it, but they are much more effective in pinning down the enemy to reduce return fire, and to allow friendly forces to move in/flank and hit them more accurately with carefully placed rifle shots.

It should be obvious that the Canadian army doesn't use American weapons, for most things. We have our own variations.
In all honesty the Canadian weapons are modifications of American ones with new names.
