The bell ringing at the end of the video threw me off for a second, it's the exact same ringing sound at my school.
This is what happens when you're coddled in an environment when you have easy access to a group of people who share the same delusion as you and you're left with an echo chamber of weirdos.
So is FP the reason why I'm a 22 year old kissless virgin?
Video should be called, "This is what Tumblr does to you" [editline]31st January 2015[/editline] A TREE? A TREE? THERE'S NO TREES IN THE FUCKING ANTARCTIC WHAT THE FUCK
I was holding it together until I heard him say "I was born a penguin." so naturally. I'm having trouble breathing.
"Trans-species" seems like it's just extreme furries trying to leech off of the legitimacy and recognition of being transgender
And then they fight for my right as well as theird. I'm just like can you not include me in your fuckery.
So is FP the reason why I'm a 22 year old kissless virgin?
no [editline]31st January 2015[/editline] maybe [editline]31st January 2015[/editline] absolutely
TransSpecies you say? [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/SaOgIFW.jpg[/thumb] (thumbnailed for size)
I am transracoon.
Oh you too? :v:
The way the staff approached the issue made it seem like they were making rules for the sake of having rules, they always kind of dodged the question when they were asked why it was a rule, or why they made exceptions for religious people. If they make exceptions solely on the basis of religion, they might as well just have an all or nothing allowance on hats. A lot of the arguments here are just on the basis of how religion is more popular or acceptable than this. My opinion on people who identify as animals doesn't really matter here, and neither does anyone elses, it's just a stupid issue to get worked up over. If people are complaining about it being a distraction in the classroom, they're going to get used to it after a week or two anyways. It impacts other people about as much as wearing brightly colored clothes does. How would this really be any different from religion if we were a mostly atheist society?

Like, a bhurka isn't distracting while a penguin hood is.

It was distracting longer then just a week. [editline]31st January 2015[/editline] Besides the kid is clearly delusional or a attention whore. That bathroom argument felt so canned and when he was asking the counselor his favorite penguin film that was just rubbing it in.

If, one day, the supreme court rules that all penguins must be treated equally to humans, then yeah, the kid would have a point. But that's not ever going to happen. Ever. The comparison the kid is making is apples and oranges. [editline]31st January 2015[/editline] If I were one of those administrators I'd have asked the kid what the hell he's doing in school if he's supposed to be a penguin. Last I checked, penguins don't fuckin go to school.
That's utterly ridiculous,so you're saying I'm not allowed to wear clothing pertaining to my belief if the belief isn't recognized by the government?
Hey uh, not to burst anyone's bubble here but I am pretty sure this is just a case of two high schoolers just dicking aorund. The video is uploaded under comedy, and the other videos uploaded on the channel support this. Just some humor parodying current persisting trends... I hope. Poe's law I guess.
That's utterly ridiculous,so you're saying I'm not allowed to wear clothing pertaining to my belief if the belief isn't recognized by the government?
Uh, yeah? That's the same reason why people can't just go and willy nilly make up their own laws. Rules and laws have to be upheld and recognized by a higher authority in order to be enforced. Claiming that "it's my belief that I have to wear this because I am <insert whatever the fuck here>" doesn't matter. If it's not officially recognized, it will not be supported or tolerated. This would be like if you said to your teacher "I can't read books. It's against my religion." Nobody will fucking believe you. And even if you are being serious, they will not suddenly decide to stop making you read books. To me it sounds like this is a kid who just wants to be a retard without actually being retarded, and he managed to find and exploit a loophole in the system to do it.
He'd probably say he'd rather not and he would much prefer living in snow forever but the world doesnt accept him so he has to go to school
humans don't accept him, but penguins do apparently has he tried living with penguins? has he tried to communicate with them? why doesn't he walk like a penguin if he is a penguin? this kid is exactly like that one episode of spongebob where spongebob decides he's a jellyfish
Well let's look at it this way. If this kid's a penguin, then he's got no rights as the laws of human rights only apply on humans. Therefore he doesn't have the right to protest, nor the right to freedom of speech. In reality he should shut the fuck up and slide around on ice while wearing a suit, maybe occasionally squeak.
Check your privilege, humans.

That I have no right to believe what I want and practice it if it's not recognized by the government even if I'm not breaking any laws?
So you're basically saying that there's this huge double standard for religion then? That I have no right to believe what I want and practice it if it's not recognized by the government even if I'm not breaking any laws?
No, that's perfectly acceptable. But as far as breaking rules and laws is concerned, whatever it is your doing has to fall within recognized and acceptable boundaries set by authorities. If the school you attend says you can't wear hats, too fucking bad. You can't wear hats. If you're Islamic, go right ahead and wear the necessary head dressing. That's the only exception. Why? Because there was a supreme court ruling that states that ALL public schools must tolerate a variety of religions and allow the students who follow those religions to express themselves as their religion tells them to. You can't go and "make up" your own religion or belief and expect the school/law/whoever to heed your words and allow you to do what you want. That's called anarchy, and the reason why it doesn't exist is because it's stupid. If anybody could make up their own rules and enforce them like schools/governments can, then we'd have total chaos. If you aren't breaking any laws, good for you. Go right ahead and practice whatever it is you're doing. This kid is breaking RULES. Regardless, they are still in-place to be followed and every school has a set of them and if students break them, they can be penalized. Muslims are given an exception because, as I mentioned earlier, a supreme court ruling. It's even referenced in the OPs video.

It's dumb that a certain belief gets special snowflake status and are allowed to do a certain thing(in this case wear special headwear) when another can't based on arbitrary reasons. The point you're trying to make here makes no sense, the law tolerates and gives exceptions to a variety of religions but that still doesn't give them full freedom to do whatever they want. If the law is going to make exceptions to rules than they should be consistent about it and I don't see how wearing a dumb hat will cause full blown anarchy in the world.
"Penguins don't have bathrooms son." This idiot is full of shit and he knows it (the student, obviously). :v:
What I asked was if it was represented in the literature on psychology, not what it is.
There are some historical cases of insane people thinking they could turn into wolves, but they weren't considered a mental condition until much later. Some guy wrote a study about it in 1963 in which he says "werewolves" may have been people who suffered from photo-sensitivity and psychosis due to congenital porphyria. Peter Stumpp also had one of the most fucking brutal executions in history.

You and I could decide right now to create our own country. We pick a piece of land, name it, and call it our home. We even make our own economy and form of currency. But, we can't spend our currency outside of our borders because literally no other country in the world gives a fuck that we exist. After all, it's just the two of us. So what if we have our own money, it's worthless anywhere else because other countries don't even acknowledge we exist. This kid trying to get the school administration to let him wear a silly penguin hat is a similar concept. They don't give two fucks or a shit that he identifies as a penguin. Just like how, in my example, other countries don't give two fucks or a shit that we have our own currency. Identifying as a penguin is not some global thing that everybody does and it most certainly does not have enough traction in society to be of any notable recognition to anybody. There's no reason for them to bend a rule just to appease this one person.
