Jabba the atheist sells out? Wow what a massive horrific surprise.
Uhm, I don't think TheAmazingAtheist is being misogynistic because he told somebody some horrible things (yeah he's an asshole) about raping. To do so would be to imply that the issue was that she was a woman. Men can get raped too, you know. Yeah, he makes shitty videos about feminism but sometimes he brings up a valid point about how it's gone too far, I think one of his recent ones had to do with neo-feminists (I'm going to use this term, as I'm not talking about the women who were being treated like shit and decided they didn't want that) cheering a girl on for punching a guy in the face for saying a rape joke.
So, yeah, TheAmazingAtheist can be a complete asshole and dumbass, but that doesn't make him a misogynist.
How did you miss the entire thread, god damm
Everyone who's saying The Amazing Athiest isn't a misogynist needs to fucking go outside and get a breath of fresh air because it might fill up the space in your empty brain a bit.
“I will make you a rape victim if you don’t fuck off.”
“I’m going to rape you with my fist.”
“BTW, you have to admit, when I told you that I hope you drown in rape semen, you got a little wet, didn’t you? It’s okay. We’re friends now. You can share.”
Not a misogynist. He just supports rape, makes jokes about it, has made at least a dozen videos trying to attack feminism, and constantly objectifies women. No biggie. This is the reason groups like the UN are made fun of for being useless, because some retards are still trying to work their heads around how making fun of rape is misogyny.

i think negative attention for being a horrible prick means people will stop watching his videos meaning he will actually get less money and even less influence so
Dumb people swarm to him no matter what he says. He's like a dumbness magnet.
I kind of feel like a massive cunt for even trying defend him now that I know more about some of the shit he says.
I used to watch the amazing atheist.
Then I turned 15.
How did you miss the entire thread, god damm
Um, I didn't.
I addressed all those points in the quote in my post.
I think he's a piece of shit and rude and all, but I don't think he's misogynistic for saying those things, just a cock. A man can get raped too, you know.
I used to watch the amazing atheist.
Then I turned 11.
fixed for accuracy to the intellectual age of TAA
I think we should all drop it and let this thread die and never bring up TAA ever again.
Banana.
then pray-tell what the fuck does it mean?
he berates rape victims, says feminists are stupid without any understanding of feminism in anyway, and writes shit like:
why are you apologizing for him?
[editline]15th July 2012[/editline]
what makes you misogynistic then?
So If I say something about men like, "I hate guys who think they're the shit." Is that Misandry?
Does that make me hate all men?
god who cares what this fat load of waste says anymore. He's always been an idiot, he's never stopped, it's just taken a while to get the full picture of the absolute shit he actually believes
and guys, even when you're arguing for something that is right, it doesn't help when you come across as absolute fucking cunts in your posts

if only this was true on youtube
anyone wanna explain to me the whole banana situation, it sounds hot.
I placed a banana in his butthole and it was recorded.
It's still better than regular commercials.

Why are you people so bloody pedantic? the word Misogyny is generally used to express the idea of someone viewing a woman negatively, much like how the word homophobia is used.
[editline]16th July 2012[/editline]
anyone wanna explain to me the whole banana situation, it sounds hot.
He took pictures of himself shoving a banana up his ass while pouring chocolate syrup all over his fat, flabby body, sent the picture of it to a load of girls and somehow expected it not to end up all over the internet
anyone wanna explain to me the whole banana situation, it sounds hot.
There was an incident that involved chocolate sauce, bananas, and people that he barely knew over the internet.
Why are you people so bloody pedantic? the word Misogyny is generally used to express the idea of someone viewing a woman negatively, much like how the word homophobia is used.
you're asking male gamers to accept that misogyny exists
Why are you people so bloody pedantic? the word Misogyny is generally used to express the idea of someone viewing a woman negatively, much like how the word homophobia is used.
No it isn't, misogyny is used to express the idea of hating someone BECAUSE they're a woman, just like hating a gay person BECAUSE they're gay is homophobia. That's just like me saying that insulting a man is misandry.
No it isn't, misogyny is used to express the idea of hating someone BECAUSE they're a woman, just like hating a gay person BECAUSE they're gay is homophobia. That's just like me saying that insulting a man is misandry.
If you're going to go by literal meanings then no hating gays isn't homophobia, since the true meaning of homophobia is a fear of gay people, like as in being actually afraid of them.
I stopped watching the Amazing Atheist a long time ago once he started really going down hill in the way he responds to social issues, bigotry, etc...He just became a massive prick and horribly represents the Atheist population. He's to Atheists as Fred Phelps is to Christians.
If you're going to go by literal meanings then no hating gays isn't homophobia, since the true meaning of homophobia is a fear of gay people, like as in being actually afraid of them.
it's kind of used interchangeably nowadays
really it's a dumb word because it basically says "if you don't feel comfortable around gay people then there's something psychologically wrong with you". like, i'm pretty sure that about half (or more) of the world's population doesn't totally feel comfortable around gay people yet (which is totally natural, because homosexuality is pretty weird/foreign in a lot of cultures, and people tend to be cautious around what they think is weird)
yeah that was pretty off topic i guess

what you just described is homophobia. the fact that "half of the world" feels that way doesn't change anything
If you're going to go by literal meanings then no hating gays isn't homophobia, since the true meaning of homophobia is a fear of gay people, like as in being actually afraid of them.
Through common use the word has changed.
what you just described is homophobia. the fact that "half of the world" feels that way doesn't change anything
i'd say it does
i mean, discomfort is the natural reaction when you were told all through your childhood that male-female relationships are the only natural ones. treating it like a phobia says that the root of the issue is in the individual, and not in society itself (and really, our bible / qu'ran / torah thumping past has deeply instilled that in our western culture)
i'd say it does

society the way it is breeds homophobes and misogynists
Through common use the word has changed.
Exactly, much like how the word misogyny has changed through common use by feminists.
Exactly, much like how the word misogyny has changed through common use by feminists.
You're claiming that hating any woman is misogyny. Not even the craziest feminist thinks that.
You're claiming that hating any woman is misogyny. Not even the craziest feminist thinks that.
no one has said that
no one has said that

You're claiming that hating any woman is misogyny. Not even the craziest feminist thinks that.
No, but stereotyping and just generally talking about women in the way that the obese atheist does is definitely misogynistic.
[editline]16th July 2012[/editline]

That was a typo, I meant women rather than a woman.
