Reminds me of the time I was trying to use the motion tools in SFM to learn and I posted my test and like 2-3 assholes whined about "rule of thirds" even though I was just trying to get one thing to move to another thing
For the most part the video wasn't as bad as I thought. But it was still remarkably stupid.

Yes that's entirely the point. Seeing something like this made in 7 days is pretty cool and it was an interesting concept. This is a case were criticism of the concept is fine such as the rounds going too slow, or where you don't entirely need to use the mechanic to finish the game.
But 90% of the points given were related to polish on a game, which takes pure time and time to complete. The gun clipping, AI, textures, the aesthetic of the game, the story, the music, the animations, the models, the aiming, the titles, the voice over, the playtime, etc. All those just take time to do.
OP seems to think that 7 days is fine. There is no room to complain about parts outside of the game concept itself, but certainly room to praise the devs for it. It was them doing something for a competition, and they decided to see if they could get it pushed to the biggest Digital Distribution platform and to expand it.
Also we need to stop using the term pretentious for anything that isn't a modern FPS, RTS or MOBA. It's fucking retarded.
I had a long and thought-out reply to the video, but then I realized it's just your bad channel that you're posting on facepunch to get views
Good luck with that, I hope everyone enjoys watching bad LPs of even worse games (what gave you the idea to LP homefront? I'm honestly confused)
Ahaha, 7:13
"Which brings me to the question of: what was the primary purpose of this game? Was it to showcase this concept?"
Gee I don't know, I don't think a proof-of-concept tech demo's main purpose was to showcase the concept.
This reminds me of The Best Gamers, except that it's serious and also unironically stupid.
If the reviewer didn't sound so senile I might have agreed with some of his points, but he starts the review with a snide attitude.
Games not finished hombre, and benighted people like you make developers think twice to put out demos.
I think the "white textures with ambient occlusion" art style looks really, really good
If you are going to claim it is not your video, you probably should not have claimed responsibility for other videos from the same channel.

Fucking amazing
What's this? A free game demo demonstrating simple intent to create an unique idea?
I'm going to shit all over it and use it to express how much smarter I am than everybody.
Man, I've been subscribed to this dude for a little bit. I liked his "Let's Try" series. Sucks he kinda went crazy dumb with this whole thing.
Also had no idea it was pawnstick, internet's pretty tiny
I like how people just throw around "pretentious" now as a way to dismiss a indie game. What is the game trying to pretend to be? The game is literally just a proof of concept, and not much else. If you really want to talk about pretentious, how about people using words that they don't understand their meaning to?
Praise and criticism aside, I don't get why anyone would say "don't play this free game that takes about 5~20 minutes to complete".

Slender Space is yet another goddamn Slender tribute / re-imagining / derivative, developed by one RickkMurray and released as an unfinished "test version" in 2013. It looks and feels exactly like the original Slender, thanks in part to it's being built on the Unity engine. As an unnamed / undeveloped protagonist, you must collect a certain number of a thing while trying to avoid a living jump scare in a dress suit. Once you finish the game once, there is literally no reason to play it again. In this video, we finish the game so that you don't have to.
The main differences between the two are that this game takes place in a poorly lit spaceship instead of a poorly lit forest, that you're collecting power nodes instead of readable notes, and that Slenderman's AI here is completely broken (as demonstrated in the video).

Pizza Delivery is another "horror" (?) game running on Unity, developed by Shahabaz Khan Productions and released in 2013. As the title might imply, you play a pizza delivery man, delivering a pizza (no shit). However, once the lights in the house you're delivering to go out, things start to get spooky(?)
We still can't tell if this game is actually intended to be scary or not. The monsters, as you will see, are beyond goofy, and the clichéd premise plays out like it's all a big joke. Of course, there's at least half a dozen videos of idiots with Scarecams™ getting scared by it, while we just end up laughing at most of it. So you be the judge as to whether or not this shit is legit!
Heavily implies you were in at least the first video, associating that channel with you.

This implies you would have been the video if it wasn't so spooky, meaning you're involved with the channel, when you're acting like you're just a fan.
And the several "we"s in the topic post.
super NOT
better title probably would have made the video from shit to tolerable

you did.
It's like I'm some sort of subscriber to the channel, so I would know when he puts out a new video. No, it's obviously my video.
wow pawnstick why are you trying to get out of the busted myth you LOST
what gave you the idea that I was just a fan?
It doesn't fucking matter. Your involvement in the video doesn't matter. What matters is that, whether or not its you or your friend or some random dick you do youtube stuff with, he is a bottom of the barrel idiot for making this video and he contradicts himself multiple times. It's a neat concept for a game that you can beat in 5 minutes, it has a handful of levels and it was made in 7 days by a couple of dudes. Your cost to play it: $0.00. Everyone is entitled to criticisms but when you go on an 8 minute ramble telling people not to play something such as this, whats the point?
I want to make a video titled "Don't Watch: The Dinner Dates".
