I just have a hard time finding something to do in ESO. Is it better when playing with a friend?

From the very few times i was able to drag my friends into it, yes. Unfortunately I don't have any friends that play it often so i cant give you a definitive answer
It also helps if you have addons like Map Markers, you can kind of play it like Guild Wars 2 and try to 100% each map.
Just an FYI, not a lot of people know this, but in Morrowind (TES 3 game, obviously), you play strictly on Vvardenfel, whereas Morrowind province itself has quite some stuff to it.

Nah I get that, I understand the mainland no doubt looks different from Vvardenfell and it'll be cool to see what those differences are.
It just seems weird for them to be like "Look guys! It's MORROWIND! Remember!?" and then make the trailer not really resemble the Morrowind people are familiar with.
Really? I could have sworn I remember reading that it took place after Oblivion.
I mean, yes, I'm definitely sure that's 100% wrong. It's not just before Oblivion, it's before the game that was before Oblivion... and further beyond that. It's the earliest, by a huge margin. There was a side-game nobody knows about that's not set too far ahead of ESO but that's about it, the stuff that happens in ESO is ancient history long before TES 3: Morrowind even takes place. In chronological order:
1) Elder Scrolls Online
2) Elder Scrolls Adventure: Redguard
3) Elder Scrolls Legends: Battlespire (also the only TES game before ESO that was multiplayer)
4) TES 1: Arena (start of the main series, tho a lot of shit has been retconned from this game)
5) TES 2: Daggerfall
6) TES 3: Morrowind
7) TES 4: Oblivion
8) TES 5: Skyrim

Skyrim takes place in the 201st year of the fourth era. Oblivion occurs right at the end of the third; the end of the game marks the beginning of the fourth. Morrowind occurred five years before Oblivion.
ESO takes place right around the middle of the second era.
Referencing the dates on the wiki, it can be calculated that ESO takes place exactly 741 years prior to Morrowind. Of course, this doesn't take into account that one time when they disrupted the natural flow of time at the end of Arena, or any of the times Tiber Septim used the Numidium, a giant brass golem whose 'skin' is made of the metaphysical manifestation of the assertion of "no" upon the very nature of reality.
Can't wait for a scrolls game that introduces creatures or continents from outside of Tamriel.
I really hate the post-skyrim Dwemer architecture and style.
I wouldn't have minded so much if it was just a slightly different style for the Dwemer stuff in the territory of Skyrim, like a regional architectural difference kind of thing. Retconning it so that all of the Dwemer stuff all over Tamriel is like that just really bugs me.
