I just don't care for the filler. Say HL3 was teased and the other Half-Life games were being rehashed like this, wouldn't you be pissed that you aren't getting HL3 instead? We've waited too long for these games.
At least you know KH3 is coming out, they have been posting stuff about it pretty regularly
I can't believe some of you play the kingdom hearts series for story reasons.
The dialogue is on the same level as a pixie book for crying out loud.
I've only played the first game and the first few worlds of 2, but in my opinion...
The first game, story and character wise, is total fucking garbage. Just complete and utter shit. The gameplay starts out shit too but it gets better like 10 hours in, but almost no parts of the story were even remotely interesting or cool.
The prologue for KH2, despite having nearly no gameplay and lasting like 4 fucking hours was in my opinion infinitely better than the entirety of the first game, just because of the story, characters and dialogue.

that's the first time i've seen someone praise Roxas' prologue for being more interesting than the first game altogether
Also I'd like to point out the variety of different platforms these titles were on. Not everyone had those platforms, and yes for those who wish to play these titles it makes sense.
but when you're a fan that doesn't care for the extra and just wants the main release, I release date of March 2017 infuriates me. I don't want this to be a HL3 situation where they just keep putting it off. 1 trailer in the last year isn't enough to convince me that they are focused.
also the IMO the story has taken so many new developments how can you even follow it. My idea was that KH3 gives a recap albeit a better version of this:

That video is incredibly inaccurate and shouldn't be taken as the definitive explanation of the story, though I guess that's the point?
But either way, KH3D already took care of this by adding the Memoir system.

I dunno, he got dream drop distance being shit correct.
i fucking love kingdom hearts, its about damn time we got all the good ones together

Well I really like a good story, and just Roxas' story alone blows Kingdom Hearts 1 out of the water. With an orbital railgun. It really took me by surprise just how good it all was after beating KH1, the sheer degree of improvement is incredible.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised if a lot of people weren't huge fans of it since it's basically like 4 hours of minimal gameplay, much longer than even the trash heap that is Destiny Islands. But personally I don't mind at all if it's very story focused for a while as long as it's actually good.

It's crazy considering we were *just* introduced to Roxas after knowing Sora for so long. But as you progress through Roxas' story, you begin to understand his struggle as life as he knows it is falling to pieces one-by-one around him. I think it also has to do with how more "realistic" Roxas' surroundings are, in a sense. Roxas lives in a peaceful, quaint town, and you almost feel like you're right there with him.

Haha no. That title belongs to 358/ 2 Days. KH3D is nothing compared to that terrible excuse of a game.

HALF-LIFE 2.5+ FINAL REMIXED EDITION HD
I agree, I remember when I played KH2 and all the extra cutscenes and extra story that never happened in KH1 weirded me out.
All I've ever played were the initial versions of 1 and 2 when they came out.
All I really care about are gummi ships and Disney. With that in mind are there other entries/remakes in the series I should pick up or am I fine just waiting for 3?

The game itself is really fun but the story is flaming hot garbage

Well, to be fair if you take only the cutscenes and dialogue from either game, just the prologue of KH2 is slightly more than three fifths the size of the entirety of KH1.
KH1 was like insanely minimalistic with story and dialogue for an RPG, while KH2 basically springboards in the polar opposite direction.
And of course the writing and dialogue is just so much better, it still shocks me. In my opinion.
The dialogue and plot are stupid and overcomplicated but boy I love them in a weird way that is both ironically and unironically
