I thought the other video he posted was just an anomaly. A quick google search later when I actually can be bothered to do some research and I find out he's actually a dyed in the wool MRA with some batshit insane beliefs. I linked to a video of him in no uncertain terms expressing these beliefs. This video, on it's own, is fairly unobjectionable. It even has one or two constituent points that I could bring myself to agree with. But the thing is, arguments don't exist as a sum of their constituent points and youtube videos don't exist in a vacuum but as part of a wider context. This video as a whole is actually less than the sum of its constituent points - it's fucking nothing. The only reason it exists is part of this guy's attempt to make his views palatable to undecided people - it's the classic MRA trick of luring impressionable people with low self esteem into the cesspool with pointlessly abstract 'life lessons'.

Even through this dude's pretentious presentation, he has a shallow message. First off, he makes a weird argument at the start about maturity and morality being linked and never brings it up again. Probably because he realized that morality and maturity cannot exist in the same universe, especially when you don't define your own morals. He values maturity and youthfulness as two things that can not exist with each other at all. He weighs maturity on a scale that is so black and white, which is pretty wrong. Shit, the whole concept of a mid-life crisis is pretty much someone trying to recapture youth and arguably, the people that embark upon it are typically more well and considered more mature than your average person. The video's goal seems to be "defining maturity" but ultimately comes off as some sort of odd scolding at people that seek some sort of happiness but this dude thinks the only way one can become happy is through profit, whether it be monetarily or something else, which is incredibly condescending. It seems like his main concern is not what maturity means for the individual, but what it means for the observation and opinion of the individual. This guy would be pretty okay without the whole MRA thing and the fact that he has the most condescending way of getting his argument across.
