Sabine could very well be one the New Mandalorians, aka the Satine era one that were more about peace and not warrior ways. Hell it could even be someone who just has the armor, we don't know for certain. But the most important thing, this is being made for fucking Disney XD.
They tried to conquer the galaxy because they're pretty much only good at fighting, then Revan kicked their teeth in and they've been bitter ever since. Also they're not so much a Race as they are a Creed really. Mandalorians are just followers of Mandalore by the strictest definition. And they're nearly extinct by the time of the Galactic Civil War, so I really don't get why they decided to throw one in here, especially a teenage one, unless they reveal she's just pretending to be a Mando, which would be an interesting twist at least.
From what I understand, there are still a few actual Mandalorians about. But they're the baddest of badass motherfuckers. You can do a lot with a female Mandalorian. Explore what Mandalorian culture is like, how she broke away from it, how she dealt with growing up in a society that's essentially Darwinian, why she isn't just working for the biggest bucks like every other member of her race. You don't have to make it too serious, just touch on it. Dumb it down for the kiddies, whatever, but it's a thing you could do. You could do a whole Warf thing with her. Break gender roles without making it about gender roles if you follow. That'd be cool. It's take effort though. And then you wouldn't be able to sum up her entire character and everything about her in two words so that's just no good. plus if she had depth and was actually like a mandalorian she probably wouldn't wear pink and have hair highlights and she's not as marketable if she doesn't wear pink and have hair highlights she needs to wear pink and have hair highlights and know kung fu because that's what a strong female role model is graAAH [editline]20th February 2014[/editline]
Sabine could very well be one the New Mandalorians, aka the Satine era one that were more about peace and not warrior ways. Tron Uprising was made for Disney XD. Being made for Disney XD is no excuse for being bad.
Look likes its gonna throw away the darkness from the last few seasons of TCW and go back to that kiddish filler stuff in the first seasons
Disney isn't exactly known for mature.... anything. [editline]20th February 2014[/editline]
ughhh why isn't this show faithful to the extended universe canon look at that armor ughhh why don't they make for the super niche group of star wars fans that probably won't watch it anyway ughhh its like its meant to appeal to kids ughhh
The EU that existed is going permanently buhbi pretty soon.
all it needs is a wise cracking robot to complete the tween demographic cliche.
Motor City was made for Disney XD. Tron Uprising was made for Disney XD. Being made for Disney XD is no excuse for being bad.
Consider the following: Bother of those shows were canned after 1 season despite being postively revived by critics, having a decent fanbases, but cancelled either for view ship rankings (I don't wanna believe that.) or because they didn't wanna finish it.It's a big toss up be then again with the fact CN allowed the extended amount of violence as it did, along with it's new shows XD might be a good fit for but I think some aspects of characters will be dulled for the kiddies. BUT there is a LOOMING,LOOMING fact that we get Stormtrooper episodes which I am excited force. As for the Mandalorians, now the race the Taung are extinct, but the culture they left is not, amazingly well predicted by Kriea in KOTOR 2. But Sabine could be Rebelling (get it!?) against traditional Mandalorian ways.
Hey guys, I got an idea. Lets stick a Mandalorian helmet on our character and call them one; everybody is going to love it regardless of how shitty the character actually is! -The Developers
Being a mandalorian is more then the helmet. It's a culture/society, based on war. Seeing this makes me sad.

Kids don't want to watch other kids, they want shows with badass characters. That's why Han Solo was popular as fuck
This is not Star Wars.
you guys are judging this entire series based on 2 minute teasers 6 months before the show even airs. it's like watching the first minute of the pilot episode of the clone wars and declaring it to be terrible. maybe you're passing judgement a lil early

Atleast the original Clone Wars show didn't rely on silly character archetypes to be good. I'm sorry, but a spunky Mandorlorian is something that sounds more like a joke someone would make about how Disney could ruin Star Wars, and it's a reality.
The characters make the Rebellion look like a joke. I want the Empire to win. I bet they'll make Stormtroopers incompetent comic relief soldiers instead of the Elite Marines they are meant to be.
it does look pretty different from female mandalorian ass slapping orange girl whether or not that's a good thing (probably not if they've come up with this character to begin with) will have to wait to be seen
The characters make the Rebellion look like a joke. I want the Empire to win. I bet they'll make Stormtroopers incompetent comic relief soldiers instead of the Elite Marines they are meant to be.
Stormtroopers have kind of always been a joke because of their aim.
Stormtroopers have kind of always been a joke because of their aim.
They were always depicted as going up against the main characters though so plot amour existed, in canon they are excellent marksmen.

did it say when this takes place? i always thought luke was like the last jedi, and this show has that cowboy jedi or whatever. aren't they going against their own lore?
did it say when this takes place? i always thought luke was like the last jedi, and this show has that cowboy jedi or whatever. aren't they going against their own lore?
Considering writers had freewill with the EU and all, a lot as many as atleast 200-400 Jedi actually escaped Order 66, and leaving that many left you basically had 1% of the ENTIRE Jedi Order alive. Many Jedi hide, died in the following years, turned to the darkside, etc.
but like, doesn't most of the EU base itself on the fact that luke was the last guy? Considering he starts the whole new jedi order and what-not? it's whatever, but it was just something i realized.
She looks like a female version of Jango. The problem is that I don't think Jango is even actually Mandalorian, he was just adopted by them as a child. godfuck
She looks like a female version of Jango. Jango, however, did. I still really wish he'd lived through episode II, they could've made him into a very interesting villain.

Given the fact Jango actually brought the END of the Death Watch during the Mandalorian Civil War, at the death of his adopted father, Jango assumed the title of Mandolore and ruled for around nearly 28-30 years as Mandalore. So in short terms, Jango was from a Mandalorian planet, became Mandalore, and fucked bitches, any questions?
Its pretty hard to have a "Mandalorian race" that includes multiple species.
Star Wars fans will eat up anything
Eat anything up? I'll certainly not swallow any of that Forced Unleashed business. [editline]22nd February 2014[/editline]
Its pretty hard to have a "Mandalorian race" that includes multiple species.
The actual Mandalorian race(Taung) died out ages ago, It's now more or less just a warrior culture that others follow.
Eat anything up? I'll certainly not swallow any of that Forced Unleashed business.
I thought the first game was well received? Unless you're complaining about the story in which case get over it.
that graffiti thing just made me facepalm might as well give her a hover skateboard and a large wool cap while youre at it, assholes
How homo. Atleast the clone wars show had badass clones and droid battles.
I thought the first game was well received? Unless you're complaining about the story in which case get over it.
Get over it? Okay, lets invent a character who beats Darth Vader then the Emperor. Yoda couldnt beat the emperor and he certainly didn't have to worry about a mini-boss, now Mr Starkiller did and he beat one after the other. Starkiller is only 21, don't you find that a little bit broken? A little bit Mary Sue? Lets not even begin to talk about the Stardestroyer thing. It took Luke and an academy full of students to actually just push the Stardestroyers a tiny bit, this man pushed it all by himself away from detonation while It was speeding towards him down the atmosphere.
