It's always been that, they just have crazy technology that might as well be magic.
nah, they actively tried to set up this aura of mystery around it, rather than just having it what it is. the whole realm thing in Thor was them trying to shy away from Asgard being a planet, made it sound like an alternate universe or something. EDIT: I mean, it's annoying me how people are accusing this film of copying the Guardians aesthetic. Well yeah, it's the same universe, it's cosmic Marvel, it wouldn't make sense for the two films to have a completely different aesthetic.
she broke Mjolnir
I really wish they wouldn't put that into the trailer.
This is what the Thor movies should have been like since the beginning.
for those of you wondering why skurge has m16's instead of alien rifles, it's an homage to the comic. [t]https://momcomics.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/thorf2.jpg[/t]

[t]https://momcomics.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/thorf2.jpg[/t]
Apparently Possible Spoilers, come from a leak that seems pretty accurate[sp] Skurge spends most of the film as a villain, he redeems himself at the very end by holding off the undead hordes alone, saving Thor and the rest of Asgard in a homage to that moment in the comics [/sp]
I thought it was a combination of magic (like Dr. Strange uses) and technology
Na just sufficiently advanced technology that might as well be magic. So really it's just splitting hairs. [editline]edit[/editline] The Asgardians were basically Clarke's third law (And it's variations, like Shermer's last law) made manifest.
The lack of Beta Ray Bill bothers me
Why is the cinematography so fucking good Marvel what is going on
The lack of Beta Ray Bill bothers me
To be fair Beta Ray Bill hasn't been introduced in the cinematic universe as another Thor at all, so him popping up would be a tad strange, perhaps a facsimile of his character will be shown here that we haven't already seen in the trailer, though obviously without his Asgard given powers.
I watch marvel movies with a +20% saturation filter because even on this shot the colors are there but nothing *pops* and before anyone informs me that there is a video criticizing this and I couldn't possibly have formed that opinion myself, fuck off
are you ok?

[editline]edit[/editline] The Asgardians were basically Clarke's third law (And it's variations, like Shermer's last law) made manifest.
The comics have gone back and forth on the matter and the movies probably will go back a bit on how the first movie did it since they've relaxed a bit on the zany shit. Plus Infinity War is going to get wild when [sp]the abstract embodiments of the universe start showing up, presumably the Celestials along with them, and Thanos falling in love with the personified concept of Death.[/sp], so theres no reason not to just open the floodgates for all the weird ass shit like gods and supernatural hell beasts and whatnot.

I mean he was designed to be a living weapon of sorts. I could totally see him fitting in here and building a fun warrior freindship with Thor and the Hulk
Bill would also make sense as a long term replacement Thor for when Hemsworth inevitably leaves the role (before they end up recasting him eventually, anyway), since he has a big dumb horse face.
I wonder what Doctor Strange's role is in the movie since he's suppose to be in it judging from the after credits scene in Doctor Strange
The comics have gone back and forth on the matter and the movies probably will go back a bit on how the first movie did it since they've relaxed a bit on the zany shit.
Na they were pretty adamant about it, hell I believe Marvel even made an effort to make everything less magical in most places, things like the Mandarin and his ten rings of power, which is why Dr.Strange was such a departure, because that was actual magic being used that couldn't be explained away as "Just super advanced technology"

Shit like Mjolnir is just straight up magic.
which is why Dr.Strange was such a departure, because that was actual magic being used that couldn't be explained away as "Just super advanced technology"
Even in that movie the Ancient One tried to use science to explain it to Strange at the beginning.
Even in that movie the Ancient One tried to use science to explain it to Strange at the beginning.
True and at that point sufficiently advanced technology, ala the Asgardians and magic blur together pretty much becoming indistinguishable from one another or as adage to the third law. "Any sufficiently analyzed magic is indistinguishable from science!"
Isn't Doctor Doom supposed to be right on the cusp of magichnology?

Motherfucking LED ZEPPELIN, yeah bring back more of those oldies rock n' roll in trailers
guys i have never watched a single superhero movie and only recently gained interest in the genre. where the fuck should i start?
The Dark Knight (for that non-Marvel flavor) and Iron Man
guys i have never watched a single superhero movie and only recently gained interest in the genre. where the fuck should i start?
Watch all the MCU films and one-shots in release order. The only one you could skip without losing out on a lot of universe building is Hulk, but it's still fairly enjoyable imo. All the non-movie MCU content is only canon in one direction (i.e. the movies exist for the TV shows, but no the other way around)
What a sick trailer. If that was the teaser then fuck the trailer.
guys i have never watched a single superhero movie and only recently gained interest in the genre. where the fuck should i start?
Spider-Man (2002)
Spider-Man (2002)
don't you mean Spider-Man 2 (2004)?
don't you mean Spider-Man 2 (2004)?
No, Spider-Man (1978). Followed by Doctor Strange (1978), Captain America (1979), Captain America II: Death Too Soon (1979), The Incredible Hulk Returns (1988), The Punisher (1989), The Trial of The Incredible Hulk (1989), The Death of The Incredible Hulk (1990), Fantastic Four (1994), Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. (1998), Daredevil (2003), Man-Thing (2005), and Elektra (2005). The only acceptable Marvel Cinematic Universe.
