hell you don't even need graphics to make a game look good

Limbo looks good and it's in black and white
I don't like your understanding of graphics, it's fundamentally flawed.
To have no graphics, it would have zero graphical representation. Imagine an interactive audiobook.
I'd maybe agree with you if limbo was a text based game, but it does in fact have wonderfully crafted graphics by a very talented artist.
IIRC, some girl named Brianna Wu? Gamergate person.
Basically a special snowflake attention seeking hack fraud who tried to cower behind social justice to dissimulate genuine incompetence and a staggering unwillingness to improve on anything, ever.
IE she's one of those people who just want instant recognition with minimal effort and thus hide themselves in artificial, secluded safe spaces where they get free pats of the back without having to actually put forth a modicum of effort to produce something that's actually good.
Back when people pointed out the hypocrisy that the political message Revolution 60 tried to convey (having an all-female cast that exclusively fights men, in a really half-assed, awkward and incompetent way of criticizing how games are supposedly made according to other hack frauds like Sarkeesian), Brianna Wu basically just tried her best to turn the steam discussion on her game into a safe-space by banning anyone with a bit of criticism (disingenuous fallacies or genuine criticism, didn't matter) and then claiming on twitter on several occasions she was the center of a constant barrage of harassment and death threats.

She didn't just use Social Justice to "deflect criticism". She actively and deliberately injected herself into the Gamergate controversy, doing things with the express purpose of recieving hateful messages and death threats, and then played the victim, after she saw how much attention Zoe Quinn got. It was all a ploy to get her and her game more attention and therefore more copies. And it worked perfectly because people on the internet, both pro and anti gamergate, are easily manipulated in large groups, no one who saw what she was doing (and it was really fucking obvious) could do anything about it, even with really obvious flubs like accidentally posting a message on the steam forums on her official account telling people to personally attack her.
This game was made in Unreal Engine 3.
I mean, even studios who shit out games with the engine (like the devs of Ride to Hell) manage to make better looking games, mostly because UE3 already looks pretty damn good by default, and they don't bother to change much from the defaults.
You have to really try hard to make UE3 look terrible in every aspect, and man, Brianna Wu and crew sure did that it seems.
And yes, there are plenty of games made with UE3 on iOS that look much better. Even indie titles. Mostly because they have some solid and coherent sense of art style, instead of something that looks like it was drawn up by an edgy 13 year old on DeviantArt. Hell, even some of the edgy Newgrounds flash animations look better and more coherent than this.
I actually like the designs of some of the ships.
Everything else looks like complete garbage though.

God damn even the space ship has fucking tribal tattoos.

Point's the same ultimately. She utilized an ongoing movement to obtain easy credit without having to actually put forth any effort at all.
It's literal attention whoring at its finest.

nothing speaks feminism to me like a bunch of outrageously proportioned identical looking white girls each with the personality of a wet paper bag
this game is sickening on a lot of levels

I cant remember if it was in a talk or a interview, but she said something along the lines of women respond better to low poly graphics and Xbox controllers are too complicated for women.
oh wait found it. around the 3:00 min mark and the 12:00 mark.

It's amazing how much Rev 60 steals from MGS. The entire nanomachine bit is unacceptable but they name the space station that you have to sneak onboard to N313. You go there in order to stop a possible nuclear war.

MGSV Chapter 3 now
[t]http://i.imgur.com/0itRkPK.png[/t]
Why!?
Ok what the hell, I thought them using N313 as a tongue in cheek reference to Metal Gear even though the context for calling a place (???) makes no sense... then I saw that legit EVERYTHING is stolen from something else. I would normally call it homage... but it's everywhere. Like every texture is from something else entirely
Does anyone have the soundtrack from the game? Most songs are crap but there was one song which didn't sound too bad.
A lot of the music is royalty free bullshit like this though.

Eugh.

I know its been said a bunch of times before but man the visuals, textures, everything just looks so Awful.
tbh minecraft is a bad example, since it kind of uses the textures it had pre-alpha. Ironically, it still looks way better.
lets look at SMarioS instead

to this day it looks really nice. Merely upping the resolution and adding AA will fix the game and make it look really decent. This game was released in 2002. It's 2016. It's better looking than most indie games, though not as impressive as it's AAA equals.

and then there's glover

very low poly, still looks alright. It deals with hardware limitations hardcore, yet still looks easy on the eyes
I don't think Minecraft is a bad example and I don't even like the game. Sure it's blocky and pixelated, but the style is consistent and the color pallete is unified.

reasonable enough. I do respect the game so though so I mean hey

i didn't notice they talked about a mission in tselinoyarsk, which is another metal gear reference on top of "n313". there is also a huge rip off of the mgs3 boss defection scene coming up.
fuck you brianna
