• I think this is the most pretentious game I've ever seen "Life is Strange"

Seems like the game is trying to appeal to the tumblr hivemind (aka angsty teens in high school with soft indie music in the background) that fill up most of it's userbase. Especially when one of the comments is its like gone home. 20$ says main character ends up falling in love with blue haired girl to shoehorn more progressive values to look good.
Very funny and interesting too!
Fuck those quotes. The game looks interesting.
I wish the trailer showed off more of the game rather than what all those critics thought of it. Let me see more of the game so I can think about it myself, dammit!
Critics are never gonna tell you if you're going to enjoy it; they'll only tell you how it fits in with the current state of the industry. So many games or movies that I love and that I know have artistic merit have been panned by critics. Always the only way to know if you will enjoy something is to try it.
Someone mentioned Twin Peaks. IF critics are somehow able to connect it to Twin Peaks, its not twin peaks. [editline]18th December 2014[/editline] There is no duck.
This is from the developer of last year's Remember Me, btw.
wtf where are the killstreaks? ffs this is just another flop just like gone homo luckily i'll be too busy killing cops in hatred to give a f*ck
you're getting riled up over literally nothing lol. wait until we actually know how the game plays before you make these massive assumptive leaps
who said im riled up exactly? im calling it like i see it and what the comments see it.
I don't know this looks interesting to me. I'm a sucker for good story telling so if this game can convey a good plot/characters i'll definitely play it.
Its gonna be mediocre and nothing like what the trailer/critics blow it up to be. This shit is going to be 100% degrassi+time travel. So its going to be pretty shit, its best to admit this now.
I dunno, could be a nice little story game.
Gone home? Heavy Rain? nope
It looks like it'd be something interesting to play. I do get a bit of a Heavy Rain vibe, and that's not a bad thing. I loved Heavy Rain.
i think this looks neat. maybe i'm a pretentious hipster though, i DID like gone home after all [editline]18th December 2014[/editline] i wonder why people complain about AAA titles all just being sequels and repeats then if anyone does anything remotely 'artsy' or different it's instantly branded as pretentious hipster garbage?
The "imma listen to muh earphones cuz the world is cruel" part triggered me, but then again, I am a troubled individual. Also the part where the girl is smoking on the bed is dumb, like, that's fucking dangerous, the fuck's wrong with you?
Also the part where the girl is smoking on the bed is dumb, like, that's fucking dangerous, the fuck's wrong with you?
the way the trailer showed it she didn't even need a bag of cheetos to be considered dangerously cheesy though I wonder if they'll explain the lack of cheetos when she's obviously smoking marijuanas
"Like watching a movie" If I wanted to watch a movie, I'd go buy a movie, not a videogame. I really hope it has some actual interactivity though
When I watched this trailer I was thinking about the story, the game, the characters, etc. Then when others watch this all they see is hipsters, hipsters, hipsters... I wish subcultures weren't a thing and people could just dress/think the way they want without being categorized.
Looks likes a hipster game "10/10 muh feels muh sjw pride" -IGN
Ehhh, doesn't seem like my cup of tea, but hey, it's just one trailer... maybe when they show some ACTUAL GAMEPLAY, I'll be able to get a better impression of it.
Honestly the game looks interesting for me but holy shit do those quotes let it down You don't give people high hopes for your adventure game when you compare it to Heavy Rain and Gone Home right off the bat.
I'm not looking forward to this because it's going to be on the spotlight of discussion for the next 6 months when it comes out. Damn it, not this shit again.
Could be a neat little story. Art style is pleasant. Hating this trend of not being able to review video games without endless amounts of comparisons though.
Seems like Beyond: Two Souls but not as good.
tumblr the game
Seems like Beyond: Two Souls but not as good.
Are you implying B:TS was good?
Are you implying B:TS was good?
How could anything compare to the smorgasbord of dramatic personae presented to us in David Cage's Beyond: Two Souls!? Bet this Tumblr shit doesn't even have any more than two attempted rape scenes! We'll get half an underwater Chinese ghost base AT FUCKING BEST from THIS heap of garbage.
It does ooze that pretentious hipster bullshit but it at least seems more interesting than any other walking simulators *cough*gonehome*cough*.
I'm definitely a bit wary of the "walking dead meets gone home" claim because walking simulators and modern VNs like this have been really wearily stagnant lately. I picked up Gone Home because I loved the idea of a first person exploration-based mystery game set in a fairly relatable setting, and left feeling I hadn't really gotten my money's worth-- but everyone seems to think that it's the pillar of the walking sim, despite the fact that we got a much better example out of the Stanley Parable. It bugs me.
