the opening scene is average teenage white girl inserting headphones to shut out the world are you kidding me
true that, never seen a school kid listen to headphones at all
Honestly, I thought Gone Home was a pretty good experience, not because of the story, but the atmosphere was fucking terrifying. I didn't know anything about the game when I bought it, and I was thinking something was going to jump out at me the whole time.
I don't quite understand guys? This looks like an interesting adventure game. If it is anything like The Longest Journey or other things like that, my Hype meter is up. Don't see why it's pretentious just because they all look like they are from San Francisco.
It might just try to be a good game for everyone too. I still don't see all the bad you others see in this game, the characters and story development look interesting based on what I've seen, so now I can only wait and see. Btw did anyone notice the action sequence after the outro? [editline]edit[/editline] Obviously this is from an early part of the game, so if the story gets more intense like in the trailer, I'm still interested.
Interesting in how he said, AAA Indie where they have the "Indie feel".
true that, never seen a school kid listen to headphones at all
Context matters, shes putting in the headphones to be a shut in and avoid people like a angsty teenager.
It looks interesting, but I still have mixed feelings. It looks a little boring

I didn't know you're also in this game. Sorry about that. The bobcut intrigues me.
I don't think any guys in this thread care it's a girl lead, it seems like they just want something different. Something epic, in the literary sense. I want a female lead where the woman is a tall, armor-plated warrior with a long, hulking sword and wild hair blowing in the wind as she leads a calvary on top of a huge stallion. None of this...angsty teenage garbage. I miss huge, fantastic fantasy games that are full of wizards and dragons and warriors. Hell, a fucking game where a female knight saves a male prince would be like a dream come true to me. So until that happens, this game looks BOOOORING. and probably has an unexplained plot line like Evil Within.
Brienne of Tarth.
I'm a sucker for Oregon-setting games. Gone Home I almost bought until I realized I could just watch a playthrough and get the same enjoyment. Probably do the same for this.
Yeah it could go the way of Two Souls but I think the only way that can happen is if that shmuck of a writer touches it.
trust me there's a lot of writers out there who are just as bad a couple dozen who are even worse, too
Looks well made, but regardless it appears to be incredibly boring.
there's gonna be soooo much porn of this game
Yet Another Ellen Page Type Female Lead™ The Game®
All I can think of is Juno and how her room looks like a parody of a hipster teens room. Does anyone else think this is way too stereotypical?
quality-wise looks pretty nice for an indie game, very much like telltale will i buy this? no
quality-wise looks pretty nice for an indie game, very much like telltale will i buy this? no
Not sure where you get that but it's not an indie game at all, it's published by Square Enix and made by the same guys that did Remember Me, a triple A game. You can't get much far away from indie with that. I liked Remember Me (I found it had a good story and amazing visuals) but this one doesn't do it for me, it just seems forced.
The game looks okay, nothing special so far but it looks at least slightly more interactive than Gone Home. The fucking quotes though, holy shit. "Like Twin Peaks meets Heavy Rain", "Like Gome Home meets The Walking Dead", "Like Gone Home mixed with a Stephen King novel". "I'm literally incapable of describing a thing without comparing it to other things!" Also this may be because schools in Ireland are different but that didn't look like a realistic depiction of a highschool. There were only like 8 people in that class.
Oh wow time travel, that's neat. This is like Back To The Future™ meets The Stanley Parable, with a hint of Dear Esther.
Also this may be because schools in Ireland are different but that didn't look like a realistic depiction of a highschool.
thats what american highschools are like
What. I never had less than 20 people in a single class, unless it was some kind of "specialty" class like guitar or something. And there were still like 18 people in it.
What. I never had less than 20 people in a single class, unless it was some kind of "specialty" class like guitar or something.
"oh yeah had a hell rough highschool aye kids hell made fun of me cos i was hell like addicted to cigarettes aye, mum hell yelled at me cos I got a eyebrow piercing." fuck middle class white mother fuckers problems.
you did see the person get shot in the gut in the trailer right
Why is everyone complaining before the game is even out? The trailer did seem dumb and angsty, but trailers usually don't do justice for whatever game they are advertizing. Maybe the trailer is a whole setup to get the wrong crowd to play it and fuck with their head.
Prince of Portland: The Sangst of Time [sp]really though there's not much to go on from the trailer, making any substantial conclusions from it is silly[/sp]
I really hope that when they say inspired by Twin Peaks they mean that this is going to be a spiritual sequel to Deadly Premonition. I need this.
I really hope that when they say inspired by Twin Peaks they mean that this is going to be a spiritual sequel to Deadly Premonition. I need this.
looks more like a slice of life meets heroes.
uh idk but thats what it was like for me, my debate class had about 8-10 people, and most of the other ones had an average of 15-20 people
Well, you can't really just say 'American highschool' when talking about class size. It varies so much from school to school My classrooms were overfilled and had more students than seats sometimes, almost 50 kids in one class. [editline]25th December 2014[/editline] and we had about 2k students total in 2012, i had to look that up actually
