lately? they've been doing this for a while now
they just hunt down videos of games he's already played as if he owns a monopoly on them
I don't remember the game telling you how to duel wield, if not I wish it did because it took me a while to learn how to equip my knife and phone at the same time. It was also hard to watch the video with little light.
Yeah, a lot of people duel wield by using the menu. But you can actually mash the two buttons on quick select and it duel wields. They should have mentioned it at the very start.
Wish they played up to the chainsaw part, that scared the FUCK out of me

They're just trolls trying to get a reaction, I doubt anyone actually believes that just because pewdiepie played it once that no one else can.
I don't even know if I can finish the video of Cry of Fear. Holy shit guys.
It seems like it has an interesting story, so I'll try to find a wiki for it so I can know the story without having to shit my pants.
the funny thing is cry of fear isn't THAT scary and later on it gets really annoying because you only have 6 slots; but while watching this, although I knew where most of the scares where more or less I was still on the edge of my seat because of Pat's nervous gameplay
Yeah, Pat seemed to have a REALLY hard time keeping the camera pointed in one direction.
Am i the only one who notices/is bothered by the fact that Matt + Patt's voices are a tiny bit ahead of the video + videogame sound? I'm not talking about the stuff that's in one or two videos i can't be arsed to remember but the delay is long enough for it to bug me; hearing them yell and then seeing something pop out is really odd.
Damn, they need to make an entire walkthrough of Doom 3.
I want them to do Walking Dead, that'd be brilliant.

Why would they play an adventure game in a segment that's about horror games?
Well, zombies are pretty horrific.
Though I've noticed that they haven't actually done any proper zombie games. (Siren Blood Curse is the most closest thing to a zombie game and even that's stretching it.)
I want one of the Fatal Frame games, in my opinion those are the hardest games to play in the dark in complete silence.

Amy, Saw 2, Dino Crisis, aren't overly scary either. Like, at all.
It's amazing how mods of HL and 2 are more scary and atmospheric than most commercial horror games.

Thats because most zombie games aren't all that scary.
zombies aren't scary because they're just husks with no intelligence at all
they'd definitely be scary if you actually ran into them because you'd be panicky and stressed to the point of instability, but in games it's just like "oh hey a couple of slow-ass dead guys that can't shoot back imma kill em"
wow Pat really shit himself playing Cry of Fear
Thats because most zombie games aren't all that scary.
It depends.
Left 4 Dead 2, say, with 3 other people laughing over mumble.
Not too scary.
Left 4 Dead 2, alone, then turning a corner RIGHT into a Tank?
Pretty fucking scary.
Also there's stuff like Walking Dead, where it's not so much that the zombies themselves are scary, but the danger they present.
Amy, Saw 2, Dino Crisis, aren't overly scary either. Like, at all.
They're still horror games that attempt at being scary. The Walking Dead is just a story about people that happens to have zombies in it.
The thing about most commercial horror games is that they need to appeal to a mass audience. People tend not to drop money on games they think they'll be too afraid to finish. Mods don't have that, people don't purchase them, and most mod developers have little to no development costs beyond the cost of living as most of it is done between friends or in-house with no third party involved. Thus they can afford to turn some people off as they wouldn't be making a profit anyway. Additionally, it's possible for commercial mods that aren't tied to a major publishing house to take certain risks with their content that some people might deem unseemly.
Edit: The same goes for indie games obviously. Take The Asylum for instance, it's a clichéd setting to be sure, but they don't let you fight back, and there are no monsters, only patients roaming a dilapidated asylum that as far as I can tell will never outright attack you. The major issue with most horror games is that they give you the ability to fight back efficiently, there's no reason to run away if you can just plant a slug in them. Even Cry of Fear suffers from this to some extent, sure, the monsters have great designs and work for their setting, but you'll never think "There is no way to kill this guy." The best way to scare someone is to make them feel vulnerable. Cry of Fear pulls this off with excellent enemy placement, and you're never engaged with them out in the open, there's always something preventing you from just circle-strafing the monsters and exploiting their AI that way (Or at least that seems to be the intent from what I've seen of the level design). Be it a hallway, furniture, water or just miscellaneous things to bump into. In short, to make a really good horror game, the enemies must feel like they're best avoided, and a lot of people for some reason can't wrap their heads around that, that enemies are just obstacles to be dealt with and will thus give the game a bad reputation because they think the combat system is weak. That's a risk most publishers aren't willing to take.

Zombie's would be scary if people had balls and made them look realistically gruesome, gave them a more creepy sound, made them very hard to kill and large in numbers. Zombie design is starting to become so bland and easy on the eyes. I am sick of seeing them the horror movie punching bag basically. If done right they could actually be really scary, especially if they constantly followed you no matter where you go throughout a game.
The thing about most mainstream zombie games is that they give you a gun and they make zombies easy to kill and in small enough groups for you to kill them easily. If they take away your gun or at least make ammunition extremely rare, add in herds of gruesomely looking zombies that sound just as nasty as they look and give it the right atmosphere then you're on the right track of making zombies scarier again. Nowadays you've got your ass load of guns and explosives to serve as your comfort blanket.

I find horror games with aged graphics to be the scariest ones.
