Kinect is shit because its a gimmick. Microsoft and Sony releasing motion control software at the same time? Its a fucking ploy to cash in on all the casual gamers Nintendo has been hogging. Great technology used for a shitty concept. Its like buying a 5 foot tall cat condo for a ferret when they are just as happy playing with the cardboard box it arrived in.

I can't help but feel that the people who are furiously defending the Kinect are the people who have stupidly wasted their money on it.

The technology behind Kinect is very interesting and could be used best for something else other than shovel-ware games, or even gaming in general.

I never liked this whole motion sensitivity style of gameplay. I mean, I own a wii, and I favour it over PS3 and 360 (because I'm a PC gamer and all that), but I don't play any of the games that are supposed to be "realistic", like Wii sports, Wii play, Mario Kart Wii, etc. I don't like the idea of games trying to be realistic, I mean, they're games. Are they really meant to be realistic? I'd rather play a racing game with a controller than pretend to be holding a steering wheel. I don't know, maybe that's just me.
