Looks pretty good.
How the hell are people saying this game is ugly, it's fucking gorgeous. Must be console kids forgetting what colour is.
Operator as fuck. [editline]17th February 2012[/editline] Honestly this looks really cool, except the soundtrack is shit and the guns are railed rubbish.
oh hey is this another call of duty dlc?
Actually, this looks quite fun. Cod as a single player game is quite fun, cod as a multiplayer game is shit. This does look a lot like cod, but still looks fun. I think the problem here is that this is the first far cry that seems to feature indoor type fire fights and closer battles. I don't like the regenerating health at all to be honest. I also REALLY don't like the rubber banding effect when knifing someone or doing an objective. I still have hope, far cry 2 was actually a really fun and engaging game if you looked past some of the bad mechanics; maybe this is the same case with far cry 3.
This might not be Fry Cry, neither was FC2, so I don't know what you guys expected. But it looks funner than I'd have expected it to be, and whoever is saying this visually looks bad needs a crack on the head. I thought it was interesting how they made a boring looking cave into something awesome looking when he was tripping.
It looks pretty bland to me, but we'll see.
Wow, guys I didn't know call of duty had side quests! [editline]18th February 2012[/editline]
Even the animations look similar
There's only so much you can do with pressing a button and reloading a gun or sprinting.
Doesn't interest me in the slightest. Sure, the graphics are neat, it brings us back to a cool pacific island. But for now it just seems like a generic fps with no real innovation or anything. I'm not saying it's bad, it just doesn't appeal to me.
I somewhat find the gameplay nice.
The gameplay looks really CODy. The first 2 farcrys required some manner of stealth/tactics. That gameplay just looks like "you are invincible and the ai cant aim! blow up everything! guns! bullets! hurp!"
far cry with a cartoony style? what the fuck are you doing
ITT: Every FPS ever is COD
As long as the story is good, I'll play. We've kinda done everything there is to do with the FPS genre, as far as gameplay goes.
ITT: Every FPS ever is COD
Did you see him just barge into a crowd of armed terrorist bros, and the terrorists having the aiming skills of a dead dog as the MACHO PROTAGONIST BRO guns them down? Or the "so cuul" first-person cut scenes?
Ubisoft really needs to stop with the dubstep. Nothing against the genre but it's just so obviously a grab at the teenager market. hey guys we're hip and cool too we also like skrillex and deadmau5 buy our game :)))))

The protagonist sounds like a bad Nathan Drake impersonator, but other than that the game looks fantastic
I don't understand why you guys are saying this looks like call of duty. Apart from the fast pace, from what I can tell he wasn't being led around a hallway at all. He was moving around that first area wherever he wanted to. Which is what really matters, the ability to tackle firefights how you want to. In theory if the game gives you stealth weapons, he could have decided to be stealth for that first fight. Sneaking around and killing shit. But since run and gun makes for a more exciting trailer they showcased that. It would be odd for FC to suddenly go completely against it's roots, considering just how many far cry games there have been. Even FC2 wasn't influenced as much by CoD as other games were back then.
Hopefully it's fully open world like FC2. Not a linear story.
Hopefully it's fully open world like FC2. Not a linear story.
I doubt it. Looks more like it's going the classic Far Cry rout, similar to Crysis. Where they give you very open areas to fight in and a lot of different options as to how you fight, but overall you're still going through a linear story, with levels that have beginnings and ends. Which, in my opinion, is the best way to do a linear shooter.
As long as the game isn't as repetitive as Far Cry 2 was. The entire game was literally drive to a place, kill your attackers, fix your car, kill someone or blow something up, repeat
It reminded me of CoD in that it was someone with an AK shooting people to death and quite a high speed.
Looks better than Far Cry 2 at least, I will probably still buy it.
this looks fucking amazing it was pretty obvious the player was using godmode/easy, i can't believe you people couldn't tell [editline]17th February 2012[/editline]
I doubt it. Glad it's open world personally. Far Cry 2 had a lot of unused potential that was held back by some serious issues that hopefully will be corrected with this one.
