This video has nothing to do with the riots. I watched this on the local news 2 weeks before game 7. Completely unrelated.
I find this hilarious because, despite the fact that the rest of the world doesn't really care about Vancouver other than it being arguably the most beautiful city in the world, they suddenly do when a group of individuals instigate riots that lasts a measly 3 hours, and then of course, the American media jump on this like a pack of wolves and paint Vancouver as a city that "gets buttmad and riots when their hockey team looses", brainwashing most of their citizens who now have an irrational hate for us that are attacking us relentlessly. American media, delusional as always.

I don't know if it's entirely the american media's fault, I'm seeing people from europe posting stupid shit all the time too (see david's post on how the riot has apparently been going on for 3 days instead of 3 hours). The news is certainly trying to blow it up though.
Reality: A tiny group of a city rioted for a few hours while most of the city tried to stop them/cleaned up

I think it has something to do with how Canadians are seen as friendly and polite and here they are having a huge riot because of hockey. Naturally people like to poke fun and the media does its thing and blows it up.

That's the problem though: it wasn't over hockey. The people who started the riot weren't even there for the game, they just wanted to take advantage of a bunch of drunk and angry people in public.
