Good lord, it's like they took Titanfall, Advanced Warfare, and Crysis' multiplayer, blended it, and patched together the remains. How awful.
Don't like the artstyle. The weapons are kinda entering that realm of generic future sci-fi that halo's old human weapon designs I thought avoided pretty well.
Eh, no, the only guns with zoom were the Pistol, BR, DMR, Sniper, Carbine and Beamrifle.
Still doesn't change that it effectively was in every halo game to date. Adding that capability to every weapon on top of rendering the actual sights (instead of just zooming in) isn't nearly as much of a game changer as you might think
what the fuck happened to the sword
what the fuck happened to the sword
[t]http://puu.sh/cMcCR/ed3bef7c6c.jpg[/t] considering the sword kill medal has the actual sword, im hoping its just a special one also when he pulls it out, it says 'Your team has picked up the Prophet's Bane' at the bottom right
Yeah, some maps have "Power Weapons" I'm guess Prophets' Bane is just a special Energy Sword for that map. Also, the game isn't out until Fall 2015, so this is an early ass beta.
It looks like a good game, but a terrible Halo game. It will still be fun, but Halo left this franchise with reach. Now we just have generic CoD-style FPS #3521
Pretty much what you just said is you're okay with rehashing games over and over. As i said before, if you want the old Halo style of play, go play the old halo games that were just re-released with updated graphics. Believe it or not there's some people who get bored of having the same shit rehashed for over 10 years and want developers to take risks and change things around and see how they work. I'd rather have one game be full of interesting changes and big risks, than 5 games that each tried something a little different but were more or less rehashes of the same thing because they were too afraid of people bitching about it. If it turns out I don't enjoy the Halo 5 multiplayer, I can go back to the ones I do enjoy. That's the glory of free will
Yes. "Rehash". Halo 1-3 kept the same formula while evolving constant themes, Reach changed it up slightly and I was fine with it, it still had the same speed, and lovable look of Halo. H4 got so much wrong, and to 'fix this' it looks like they decided to take from other games instead of realizing what made Halo stand out. - The Solid functions that all feel consistent, with weapon pickups, power weapons in certain spawns, a particular speed being the base for all the games, but the rest being tweaked in newer releases. - The interesting story (343i I'm not ever going to buy the "Humans are stupid ancient and created the modern Flood by sprinkling flood powder on their space dogs (SERIOUSLY WHAT THE FUCK 343i) and retconning the whole Forerunner/Human relationship) - A consistent artstyle (Fucking anime armor not matching anything, and making Forerunner architecture into boring generic sci-fi schlock)
Also, the game isn't out until Fall 2015, so this is an early ass beta.
yea, but its doubtful that they'll remove the iron sights/jetpacks/boosting/killstreaks after putting work into them
- A consistent artstyle (Fucking anime armor not matching anything, and making Forerunner architecture into boring generic sci-fi schlock)
Honestly I wouldn't even mind battlefield halo if the artstyle was at least semi-reminiscent of the bungie games
This makes me want to vomit tbh, what a far cry from Halo 2 and 3. Honestly I'd MUCH rather play Advanced Warfare than Halo 5, as Halo 5, at this point, seems like a watered down, Halo-themed AW. Reach was the last Halo game
Can someone provide me with examples of good gun sounds? I've seen many complaints on many games recently that the guns didn't sound good, and I honestly can't tell what a good or bad gun sound is.
Battlefield Bad Company 1/2 and Battlefield 3/4 all had some of the best gun sounds in any game.
Can someone provide me with examples of good gun sounds? You might not be able to perceive stuff others can through some biological misfortune.
This makes me want to vomit tbh, what a far cry from Halo 2 and 3. Finally, the common thread among entitled bitch rants has been nailed down to such a pure form that the scholarly standard is now being authenticated and integrated into educational facilities across the globe as we speak. See you at Oxford.
what the fuck happened to the sword
Any level headed person looking at the context of this thing (the Prophet's Bane moniker, the speed boost, the fact that it's announced that your team has it, the fact that it's fucking yellow) could--no-- WILL come to the conclusion that it's not the regular energy sword and the regular energy sword has yet to be seen. Go figure, the loudest people against this game aren't the most level headed around either. People were complaining about killstreaks on the first few pages. A feature that was confirmed to not be in the game within the minute it was announced. You mother fuckers are literally inventing fictional shit to get angry about.
I didn't think Halo 4 was that bad, and although I had my complaints, I put in a good amount of time in war games. It still felt like Halo, and the game play changes just made it a bit more balanced for all players, plus, the level of customization allowed for different play styles. From what these trailers have shown, Halo 5 is just going to be a miss-match of new and conflicting features. What I feel from the stuff shown so far: -Guns don't sound very satisfying, sound as if they are pellet guns -This whole focus on mobility looks as its going to lead to long, drawn out gun fights, with people darting all around (at least its better than that damn booster pack in 4, thing didn't do shit in the multiplayer) -Smart scope system is interesting, and I did like how they mentioned that if people feel as if they need to do it all the time means they failed, but overall, its going to make all non-precision weaponry clunky to use -Sword is going to be OP? With the mobility enhanced, its going to be a whole lot harder to avoid being shanked (unless they bring back Reach's melee cancel) -That charge better not be an instant kill, otherwise it looks like it would be way too good -Stomp feels way out of place, not to mention it makes you a huge target for the charge time -Is it just me or did that battle rifle at 3:11 look like it did little to no damage Overall, until the community gets their hands on the beta come December 29(?), all we can do is speculate. And please stop comparing the game to CoD. The fights still look like they take a decent amount of time, meaning the player with the better aim and movement will win, not who has the better gun or who shot first, not to mention it looks like they kept in the shields/health system. 343 is trying to take the game out of its comfort zone, and let them do that. If the game sucks, feel free to shout "I told you so!" Just remember that people will still play it, and people will find a way to enjoy it.
This is how you do it right... Though I would say that the sound of all things would be the assets that are in the most flux at this stage. Remember what the Halo 4 BR sounded like when the first footage was shown? Hell, remember how the Halo 2 Anniversary BR sounded when they first showed it? Hell, remember how EVERYTHING sounded in the 2000 Halo 1 E3 demo?
Halo 5 is starting to get that thing Destiny has where the art style is so boring and generic it looks like a video game you'd see tv characters playing so they don't have to make a reference to anything
The game looks fine why the hell are you guys nitpicking about [editline]11th November 2014[/editline] Take off your nostalgia goggles ffs
Fucking thank you. I was going to say, there's nothing actually wrong with it so far that isn't "but muh original Halo" and "343 suck".
... their previous innovation ended up with the wonderful pile of dog shit that Halo 4 was ...
...seriously? It wasn't like the classics and therefore didn't please you, so it's dog shit?
Never seen a legitimate reason why Halo 4 was bad either, not surprised.
Never seen a legitimate reason why Halo 4 was bad either, not surprised.
"story was complete shit, art design a mess, and worst multipalyer" are all apparently illegitmate reasons
"story was complete shit, art design a mess, and worst multipalyer" are all apparently illegitmate reasons
Story being shit is opinionated but the other ones maybe.
Ever since Reach Halo's been going down this path. 1-3 have this awesome retro sci fi feel where the guns and armor remind me of something outta Aliens, very blocky and cool whereas in Reach they started to become very militaristic, which I didn't hate, but then come 4 they've gone totally as overdetailed as possible, the aliens are almost unrecognizable anymore
Totally agree. Halo 3 had the best art style by far, so simple but also quite pretty. The game pushed it by including equipment (I think that's what it's called I can't remember) but that wasn't that bad compared to armour abilities. I played Halo from 2002 to until Reach came out because I didn't like it. I preferred the old style of 1-3, and there is definitely a noticeable different between the trilogy and the rest. [editline]12th November 2014[/editline]
"story was complete shit, art design a mess, and worst multipalyer" are all apparently illegitmate reasons
"campaign, inclusive of enemies, was quite terrible" However all my complaints may just be me preferring the old style to the new style. I'm sure a lot of people think the new style isn't 'bad', and I am aware that maybe I just don't like it
I hope they raise the time to kill.
yea, but its doubtful that they'll remove the iron sights/jetpacks/boosting/killstreaks after putting work into them
Kill Streaks are out, they're not in Halo 5.
Story being shit is opinionated but the other ones maybe.
Apparently Cortana turning into a bridge and killing herself is on par with Shakespeare for this guy
Apparently Cortana turning into a bridge and killing herself is on par with Shakespeare for this guy
She didn't turn into a bridge. The bridge was already there.
Seems fine tbh, its just not gonna be up to par or the standard with the older games. Halo just isn't that relevant anymore and the FPS is slowly going in that direction. Even Bungies new FPS sucks. [editline]12th November 2014[/editline] It will be like an 8/10 game imo, not the masterpieces Bungie use to make
I had a bad feeling this stuff with 343 and Bungie would happen.
I never was a fan of the MP. I want to see more SP.
The game looks fine why the hell are you guys nitpicking about [editline]11th November 2014[/editline] Take off your nostalgia goggles ffs
theres a reason why halo's multiplayer was seen as amazing and fun, and it sure as hell wasnt fucking zoom functions on every weapon and changing the pace completely. the whole art style is now generic as fuck and looks like some 10 year old drew something that would be cool as hell for most of the weapons and Spartans. The story from 4 was so terrible and shit on the original trilogy, and the multiplayer was dead within a few months due to people rather play the last two (3 and reach). amazing how people can sit there and go "take off your nostalgia goggles" when it shows that the original formula is amazing and can be extended greatly by adding a few new weapons/maps and maybe abilities instead of changing the pace completely and adding in stupid shit like iron sights that is completely pointless. People would be having a fucking hissy fit if the new unreal just added iron sights and got rid of bhopping completely with the weapons and characters being generic marines with generic looking weapons.
In what fucking universe was Halo's aesthetic not the spitting image of generic before? If anything, the way shit looks now is different than most contemporary sci-fi. Do you even know what generic means?
She didn't turn into a bridge. The bridge was already there.
She became the bridge
