I'm a big Howard Stern fan, but his quality of radio has declined since Sirius.
I liked him better in the Eric the Midget era. Those were the good times.
I'm still listening to this. Personally, I don't blame Stern. Him and his team are normal people who have jobs, and he's interviewing people that are obsessed with gaming. It's incredibly alien to him, therefore, it's a target to make fun of, so I'm with Howard on this one. It's kinda like a gaming obsessed teen interviewing a furry. Furries are hated by everyone, only because what they like is alien to everyone else. I still hate furries regardless though.
Woo go Stern! Ba ba booey!!
EDIT:
Wow, I just listened to it all. After it finished, I played my own little game in this thread called "Stop the lifeless nerd". Basically, how I played it, was that I looked at all the posts disagreeing with Howard and calling him an idiot and whatnot. The game was too easy.
I also feel fucking ashamed of myself now. I liked to game now and again, but you never realize the damage you're doing to yourself unless someone actually says it to your face. I don't want to be like those nerds at that gaming convention. Nerds who tap tap away playing their TF2's and stuff for so long that they are forgetting how to talk properly. And the worst thing of all, it's those kind of people that this forum is mostly composed of. Gaming first, career second. Oh it just breaks my heart. Starting from today I'm finding a fuckin' job and I'm going to sell my computer. I have a laptop that I never use, which I can use for facebook, notes, and for doing work on. I'm sick of gaming anyway. GPU manufacturers are flinging shit at eachother which makes the consumer lose out, games aren't what they used to be and it's all the same shit all the time. Too many stupid sequels, poor story, shit community, blah blah blah. Welp.. time to join the rest of the normal people. Wish me luck.
I can say and do a bunch of controversial stuff and ignorantly make fun of stuff. Why haven't i got a radio show?
Something Howard Stern would never understand is that you can make money off of video games... quite easily. For people that don't know, some items in TF2 are worth real dosh. I made roughly $2,000 dollars off selling TF2 shit.
Sure, it's not a living, but it's still free fucking money for doing jack shit.
Wow, that cockey gamer made me rage, as well as Howard Stern, would love it if someone just did a parody of this saying how radio is just sitting there talking shit while pressing buttons to play music.
Of course he doesn't let the caller in the second video explain anything, just being all "NOPE VIDYA GAMEZ MEAN YOU LIVE IN THE BASEMENT AND DO NOTHING ELSE!"
Angry people ITT is best thing about this video, especially because they make fun of Valve games.

Howard Stern made you change your life.
That's like taking a look at someone's shit and then deciding to join the peace corps.

1) Seeing dumb logic, disagreeing with it and calling it out doesn't make someone a "lifeless nerd."
2) You're only doing damage if you're an addict, just like with anything else. Why are you ashamed you've gamed occasionally? There's no damage being caused in moderation.
3) I've never heard of someone forgetting how to talk properly just from gaming. If someone talks oddly, it's probably a speech impediment that has NOTHING to do with gaming being a cause.
4) I have to agree that you're right about SOME of the gaming community as a whole (not just Facepunch) being composed of people like this.
You're really blowing things out of proportion, just because someone likes to game doesn't mean they're a basement dwelling nerd with no life. Still, good luck finding a job and all that.
"hey let's discuss something we know nothing about"
"what did this guy just say"
"i dont know hahahaha"
"hahahahahaah"
"the 'nerd'? whos that"
"i dont fucking know hahahahahhahahah"
"oh man these guys are so silly hahahah"
And after that they judge millions of people because they don't know what the fuck they're talking about.
Man, I used to love Howard Stern, his prank calls were hilarious, and some of his bits were great, but this seriously made me lose a lot of faith behind him.
The fact that he sits there just talking shit and doing absolutely NO research about the subject just blows me the fuck away. He's basically just spewing hate because of a few people at a convention that continue to live a nerdy stereotype. This is like hating on the entire radio industry because Stern doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about at times.
EDIT: Good lord, I just got through all of part 2, the end almost made me want to punch small children.
"Yeah, but it's just like you talking about chess!"
"Here's the difference: I've got a career, I've got a life, I've got a wife. These guys are living in their parents basements, they can't be gaming 24/7"
"Well, a lot of them have jobs, some play games for a living."
"No, not these guys. These guys have a hobby and I have a career."
This is like trying to talk to a brick wall. I respect Howard Stern and how he made a living off of displaying some sort of bravado towards the FCC and whatnot, but he's fucking dead wrong on this, and he doesn't want to admit it.
asshole
Joey Boots doing what he does best.

He actually said that video games have cheap music.

The hypocrisy in this thread is making my penis tingle
keep it up everyone this is a great thread to read
I think he's pretty retarded.
But hearing those guys play something like TF2 so seriously was ridiculous as well.
I think the recordings show both sides of the spectrum. The "I don't know anything about gaming it's fucking retarded," side and the "Gaming is my life it's the best thing ever," side. To me, neither is a good one to be on.
he actually did nothing but push some buttons
