This is the pack I actually wanted because BBS wasn't brought over to the Vita, and replaying KH2 will be fun as well.
Can we skip The Little Mermaid world this time?
Can we skip The Little Mermaid world this time?
They've always been skippable
You don't know how successful series' work do you?
What the fuck, I never even suggested it wasn't successful. Ofcourse it is successful, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out they have tried to off-shoot the game as many times as they can. Making as many games with similar gameplay, characters, and enemies that they can churn out. Some of the spins-offs are good too.... BBS kinda.... but it is a case where Square Enix knows they could release anything and it will get bought just simply cause it is KH. [editline]15th October 2013[/editline] Like I thought the first KH collection contained both KH1 and KH2 on a single disc. I would expect as much for $40. COM hardly counts as worth it either. They could have released both main games on a blu-ray easily, even in HD textures with KH 1.5 being only 18 gigs. How is arbitrary splitting two of the main games for a HD release not even considered milking by some fans??????

It is actually 4 games that are difficult to get outside of Japan.

The only reason you would split in this case was just to make people pay $40 twice over.
Yes I get what they contain, but why not just one collection? The only reason you would split in this case was just to make people pay $40 twice over.
You would still have to pay more for the collection that would most likely still be on two (of not more) discs.
You would still have to pay more for the collection that would most likely still be on two (of not more) discs.
Now that is just a bullshit excuse, other collections have done fine in that area. They arguably pack more content and maintain a fair price. Metal Gear Solid Legacy comes to mind. Sure it is on multiple discs, but swapping discs beats paying $80. Square Enix knows KH is a brand at this point and not so much a story that needs to be finished. People enjoy just the idea of interacting with FF and Disney characters, it doesn't really matter if new characters are introduced or if it fucks with the canon much. And that is actually fine for the most part. The spin-offs can be kinda fun, but it's gone on for alittle too long now to where its just a business decision. If Square Enix wanted to tell a story they would have released KH3 a long time ago, instead of tip-toeing the conclusion of a series.
If Square Enix wanted to tell a story they would have released KH3 a long time ago, instead of tip-toeing the conclusion of a series.
people who say this have no knowledge about the actual story of kh
They sort of had to rework Kingdom Hearts 1 due to losing the original source code (allegedly) alongside redoing and revoicing the Days cutscenes they put into 1.5, you know. It's not just 'oh hey HD upscaling for $40' (albeit they did do that for Chain of Memories). Plus these are side-projects next to Final Fantasy 15 and now Kingdom Hearts 3 hogging up the primary development.
If Square Enix wanted to tell a story they would have released KH3 a long time ago, instead of tip-toeing the conclusion of a series.
They are telling a story But some things wouldn't make so much sense without the spinoffs. Imagine trying to make sense of Kingdom Hearts 2 without having Chain of Memories, as an example.
They are telling a story But some things wouldn't make so much sense without the spinoffs. Imagine trying to make sense of Kingdom Hearts 2 without having Chain of Memories, as an example.
or KH3 without DDD
or KH3 without DDD
Don't make me feel bad for not owning a 3ds :<
i actually just read a long summary of every mobile game because i just love kh so much i don't have a 3ds either
They are telling a story But some things wouldn't make so much sense without the spinoffs. Imagine trying to make sense of Kingdom Hearts 2 without having Chain of Memories, as an example.
Well that goes back to why they could have just wrote the series more streamlined. It's not like the story needed the spin-offs, they just decided to write the story in such a way it allowed the creation for them. It's not like KH is some brilliant epic that needs a dozen games to convey its message. When you have almost 4 protagonists that are basically the same character and are interchangeable, you kinda illustrate the point that the game is fun for its concept.
Why don't you all just wait for 3.5? Honestly it seems like squeenix is just copying Capcom's idea of making slight iterations to their game or ports just to milk their fans.

But yeah, Square is still milking it.

The Final Mix contains a lot of extra stuff and even the secret [sp]Xemnas[/sp] battle. 358/2 days only being available in the DS, you couldn't obviously play it without owning a DS, although it kinda sucked the HD is only cutscenes due to time restrains IIRC And with KH 2.5 you get Kingdom Hearts 2 and Birth By Sleep which are both the Final Mix versions, which like 1, contains a lot of extra stuff. SE is milking the series no doubt, but at least the game hasn't fallen down in gameplay and is still fun.
you know how about you just explain how you would rewrite KH to only fit into as little amount of games as possible enlighten us, please
I mean really it won't matter what I say to you cause they have already written so much that your right, there is almost no way to contain the entirety of the story in 3 games. In the end, they could have just simplified the story to a 3 act piece about some guy experimenting in darkness/light, it goes wrong, and this kid and his friends are caught up in it, and somehow it is tied to the Disney universe. Friendships are divided, Disney utopias are invaded, and somehow keyblades fixes it. But ofcourse it became much more complicated then that and it made over a dozen games. Though I'm just someone who occasionally plays the KH series cause I enjoy the gameplay and some Disney moments. The story kinda lost me after KH2.
No game will ever induce as much hype in me as kingdom hearts 2 did for me as a kid.
i remember seeing kh3 on a e3 stream during last june. i almost flipped my fucking table over in sheer shock. the child inside me screamed with joy.
Speaking of that, as I don't have a PS3 should I get DDD on my 2DS?
Speaking of that, as I don't have a PS3 should I get DDD on my 2DS?
So long as you at least know what you're getting into and don't expect wonders from it, I think Dream Drop Distance nicely compliments any 3DS/2DS owner's library.

It is also nice to be able to have a handheld Kingdom Hearts game.
Speaking of that, as I don't have a PS3 should I get DDD on my 2DS?
Do it. It's nowhere near the level of KH1 or 2 but it directly leads to KH3, so you kind of have to if you actually want to follow the story.
Speaking of that, as I don't have a PS3 should I get DDD on my 2DS?
In my opinion, you should just borrow it off a friend or wait until it becomes cheap. SE really should have included the cutscenes from DDD and put them into 2.5, but seeing as how it's not out yet we can always hope they do it.

I do agree that they could have atleast ported the spin-offs all to one system, but after 2.5 gets released, I wont really be able to say that (even tho I dont have a PS3). I'd actually love to find out why they wanted to spread all the games out across a bunch of different consoles and devices.
