So...ignoring that it is basically impossible to actually overload a reactor in a modern setting, you would ,in theory, need to overload the reactor by sealing the vents and removing the control rods entirely.
If you were then to detonate explosives, the reactor would suddenly gain a vent and would no longer overload. The fuel rods would probably burn through the floor and into the catcher, buuuuut that is one of the safety mechanisms, and would prevent a meltdown.
And of course even if it did overload, it would never produce a blast wave or a mushroom cloud.
The sequel should be him launching a nuke to penetrate ground as deep as possible and detonate it, blowing Earth apart into pieces literally
In a world where a guy sees the world as black and white, able to hold a wide assortment of weapons, cannot get exhausted after killing hundreds of cops, blow up cars by just shooting it, regenerate health through executions, and was able to absorb millions of bullets up until the very end, I think the technicality behind how a nuclear reactor operates is the least of our concerns.
Yeah, which is why the mushroom cloud and reactor overload itself doesn't bother me. Cinematic license or whatever. The explosives though are just pointless.

Games are fiction okay.
Games are fiction okay.
that's no excuse.
do you have any idea how insulting to see shitforbrains game developers screw up even the most basic facts for whatever reason (see: 99% of firearms in games)? it is fucking insulting is what it is.
if you portray real persons or real equipment and objects, consider it your fucking duty to get it right the first time. i'm sick of all the incompetent pieces of shit who go "no make this shotgun shoot like a double barrel for gameplay reasons" "i put extra crap on this to make it look cooler" "who cares if it doesn't work this way my story needs this". they make money by selling lies. fuck that. fuck em all.

This is not important

I can never tell if you say this shit jokingly or actually serious.
Like you're a pretty cool mod IMO that brings facts to the table sometimes and I enjoy your posts for what they are but jesus christ man.

you take video games way too seriously, man

He didn't even set the reactor to overload. He never made it past the login screen.
That was so bad and over the top that it was hilarious and cringey. I seriously can't believe that the devs were trying to be serious with this.
There is nothing implying its satire other than the bad writing
There's a difference between satire and not taking yourself seriously. Look at the slasher genre or the godzilla series.

yeah except there's literally nothing implying hatred is going for that route that couldn't be just as well attributed to godawful writing
oh my god who the hell cares
just fucking play the game if you want and if you dont who gives a fuck
either you pick up on the humor in it or not past that why does it matter video games are for fun we dont need to argue over every little fucking thing
This is game of the year.
This game reminds me of Postal and Postal 2 with the amount of stupid violence, only with even worse voice acting and not much fun to be had, I watched some of the gameplay for about 20 minutes and despite hoping it was at least decent gameplay wise, the game looks/sounds/plays/performs like shit at almost every corner. I can understand ironically bad games, I can even understand a lot of terrible games that had great potential, but this I don't understand. It's like they wanted it to be an absolute cringe-fest, the animations, voice-acting, pretty much all of it. The only things that weren't absolutely terrible from what I saw were the environments and the destruction to some degree, but that's no where near enough to save a game from this terrible fate.
I mean just imagine an entire day of work inside the office that made this game. An entire team of people thought this was a game worth releasing, I don't know how long the development cycle was for this game but I can assure you it took long enough for one of the people working on it to just stop and think, "Holy shit what have I created".
All in all they have every right to sell it as does any company with any game, but honestly if they are going for respect as a company or quality products then I think they may be off to a pretty bad start.

I'm pointing out that they aren't even following their own internal logic, which I find both amusing and confusing. I can ignore the lack of realism, but when it contradicts its own deviations from reality, I have to wonder how it ever made it out of the script stage.
Everyone else had pretty thoroughly covered the voice acting, animation, script, and atmosphere all being shit anyhow. :D
yeah except there's literally nothing implying hatred is going for that route that couldn't be just as well attributed to godawful writing
fine. you can believe what you believe and i'll believe what i believe. we can't prove either side. but i'm going to stick with the assumption that a group of 10 adult human beings in a civilized nation who are all likely well-adjusted banded together and made a game where the main character rambles on about how he "fucking hates" every one don't take themselves 100% seriously.

Knowing of how various guns/a nuclear reactor operates is far from basic knowledge.

This is contender for game of the year and I believe all of these elements are 10/10. My only complaint are the death animations and the lack of real gore on the AO rating. Where are the disembowelments? I need more edgyness.
Anyway I'm buying my whole family a copy to enjoy because its that good.

Sci-fi game developers confirmed shitforbrains, I guess.
lol they're not incompetent, there's just no reason to make it exactly like in the real world because you're like a 1% minority if that. Get an imagination, games usually aren't realistic. Those are simulators.

They said it was suppose to be serious, as the link at the top of the page stated.

"Player has to ask himself what can push any human being to mass-murder."
I understand what you are saying, but the developers designed the game from the standpoint of a mad man. Its bad writing. I think a lot of stuff gets lost in translation when you are developing a game written in what is a second language to yourself.
Payday 2 has awful writting, the developers are Swedish and you can tell the writing isn't suppose to be cheesy as hell, it just is.
the end was also a straight up kindergarten slaughter which to me is far more disturbing than this end
but he never actually did it in the game? he just broke down

no, you believe what you want, i'll believe what the "10 adult human beings" who made the game stated, that it's a serious game
