The trailer's very childish, like it's either made by or appealing to arena shooter tourney-fags or /v/ posters, and neither of those are good.
Well I mean it's a great way to get attention to your project. I'd rather have them do this sort of advertising than have the game go unnoticed if it really is what it promises.
is it me or is the fov in the video incredibly low? kind of ironic when it's selling point is that it's an old school pc arena shooter

Me too dude, me too :(
On topic though, this looks promising, i'm excited.
no iron-sights? :--(
This honestly look quite fun
this looks fucking awesome
No leveling, yet after kills they are getting + something, I'm interested in what they are getting?
From the website linked in the video description:

However, unlike the shooter giants from the past, TOXIKK features an XP and a bounty system. The XP system and its associated ranks are used for reputation purposes, for our match-making algorithms and to unlock new skins, but they do NOT change the stats or the abilities of your character. Your rank will show other players how experienced and skilled YOU are (rather than showing the experience level of your game character).
goddamnit now how can i quickscope
goddamnit now how can i quickscope
360 no scope lobbies all day baby
Seems like they are trying way too hard to appeal to old school pc gamers.
looks cool but not being f2p really is going to kill it
hmm should i play quake live or spend money on a game that will very likely have no one playing it
see: nexuiz
perfectly good arena shooter, had absolutely no community even being sold at a budget price
being f2p will kill it
This reminds me a lot of the Unreal Tournament series (especially the vehicle parts).
Going to try and keep my eye on this game.
being f2p will kill it
unless the game releases at $10-15 at launch, i doubt this game will get the traction it needs to sustain a healthy community.
Ah yeah UT2004 with updated graphics.
Let's hope master chief player model is a placeholder.
looks like a halo ripoff to me.
no levelling at all? lol. dead on arrival.
I love arena FPS but this will die in a few days, arena FPS is dead, go play QLive

I partially agree but It sucks to be so pessimistic about it. Also there is leveling if you had read the last page.

it's not real leveling. it's their own version of a (shitty imo) elo system.

VGS :'(
I love how spunkgargleweewee games have gotten so fucking boring and awful these days that making a first person shooter is all you need as a selling point
Trailer looks great but all those buzzwords makes it seem like they're missing the forest for the trees somewhat. Or it's a marketing ploy. Sure things like high jumping and the absence of ironsights, reloading and leveling were a thing in classic shooters, but that doesn't necessarily mean putting those things in your game will make it exactly like a classic shooter.

Yes being F2P has always worked well for the balance of games.
Said no one, ever... who didn't work for Valve.
Why did they try to make it look like Halo
I think that's generally going to put people off from this. In an arena game if your visuals are cluttered then that's awful visual design- Quake 3 uses very simple shapes and that allows you to see enemies/pickups/whatever no problem as well as being easier to navigate. Even the more visually impressive Unreal tournament 2K4 is still simple with its most detailed part being exteriors of buildings (Such as the buildings in 2K4's rendition of Facing worlds) that can all be navigated using your teleporter.
In toxxik, it's filled with a nasty amount of visual pollution which will only get worse as the explosions and gibs pile up. You can't climb the rocks or trees either and I severely doubt you can get to the top of buildings unless the level designer put some stairs. On top of that all of the pointless shit that's in these maps WILL have a severe effect on framerate unless its an in house engine and not the Unreal Engine (The former being something I extremely doubt). In a tournament having a bad framerate is a death sentence and not even performance configs could probably save it.
I don't understand what's everyone's problem with iron sights, I got so used to them being in everything that hipfiring feels weird now, I always feel like I'm gonna miss
What's this? A first person shooter that relies on skill, and not regenerating health, iron sights, and instant kill knife attacks? Color me interested.
Red Orchestra 2 Rising Storm is perfect for you.

'I don't understand what's your problem with no iron sights, I got so used to them being in nothing I played that iron sights feel weird now, I always forget to ads'
Each to their own man, this game may not be for you, but there are other people out there that will love this sort of thing.
Looks like the same shit as with the Wolfenstein "omg were so retro guiyze" trailers.
Sharing what I thought of Wolfenstein after actually playing it is offtopic, but it definitely wasn't what it claimed to be in the trailers.
I am expecting the same for this. As said before it won't manage to take off and die withhin a week or two though so I would rather wait for Unreal Tournament.
I fail to see how this UT clone will be relevant once the real thing releases.
Speaking of UT4, have we gotten any concrete info on it regarding gameplay and weapons? Instagib is fine and all but christ I want to see some new weapons.
Can't wait for Rekoil 2.0
love how making fun of call of duty works as advertisement
