ITT: Teenagers thinking Goldeneye was the "good old days". Stop being blinded by nostalgia and you'll realize that Goldeneye is just a well-made but generic actionfilm. Before you think you know what the Bond films are all about try watching some of this:
I don't know about you but that seems to suit pretty well with what I was saying Bond films were:
See THIS is what Bond is supposed to be Some huge crisis that threatens the world Send Bond to go blow shit up, retrieve shit and get ladies Clear, blunt objectives where you can feel the reasoning behind what Bond is doing Crisis averted, Bond saves the world
Explosions - check Women - check Clear objective - check Bond saves world - ....I don't know about that but, you see my point [editline]22nd May 2012[/editline] So our idea of "good old days" seems to match pretty well with whatever you're calling "good old days"
Casino Royale is my favourite bond film, though I really disliked Quantum of Solace. But there's a great director attached to this one, so I hope for something better.
Mendes is the man... his roster of movies is unbelievable.
I dunno why but i get the feeling its going to be a shit load of talking and a few action scenes... boring.
yeah, movies should be only full of action scenes, otherwise it's a shit movie

Oh another skyfall thread, oh well I guess I'll post this again.
I dunno why but i get the feeling its going to be a shit load of talking and a few action scenes... boring.
go watch Sontum of Qualace.
Man I'd fap to sexy women and guns all day. Wait, I mean sexy women with guns.
Clear, blunt objectives where you can feel the reasoning behind what Bond is doing
I know right, now we've got crazy complicated plots like "some men are coming to kill us, we're going to kill them first"! How can the average viewer be expected to keep up with stuff like that?
Started watching Bond when I was little and basically grew up with the classic Sean Connery and Roger Moore films and although I find the new Daniel Craig Bond films good I have one major gripe with them. No Bond gadgets! Seriously all the cool and weird things Bond had in the old films were great, his cars were always packing something cool and on his wrist it was common to find a watch that really did more than just tell time. Seeing all the weird weapons and devices packed into spy trinkets was my favorite part of the entire Bond series. Just take a look at some of these then compare them to the new films at the bottom of the list, Bond always had some really neat stuff - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_James_Bond_gadgets#Sean_Connery_era_.281962-1967.3B_1971.29 Now what does he have? Oh boy his car is equipped with a defibrillator! Doesn't really get much more boring than that.
Q is confirmed to be in Skyfall, so I guess we'll see some gadgets in this one. Besides we had The Dark Knight for the gadgets. (even if it's not a bond film, it reminded me of Bond in some scenes.)
Bond isn't meant to be this gritty and serious.
Well I like it a lot better when it is.
In my opinion, Goldeneye was a very faithful bond movie. After that things got wonky. The old ones hit the formula perfectly. The new ones, just seem different. Like they should be their own movies, not bond films. I'm not saying they are bad, just don't seem to fit in with the rest for me.
The most faithful bond film to the Ian Fleming novel series is Casino Royale as far as I know.

All those seriously cool Bond gadgets in every movie and then Casino Royale:
Sony Ericsson K800 Cellphone with sophisticated GPS and 3.2 megapixel digital camera, with the ability to take multiple pictures very rapidly.
Ahahahahaha
Visually it looks stunning - however cautious after that horrible story/screenplay they did with Quantum.
all of these new bond movies look more and more like borne movies
You have something against little people?
theyve always been looked down upon
