Not really interested in marvel movies anymore
The only ones that I like are the ones that are more based on weird shit/fantasy like Thor 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Just because they seemed to have a spark of creativity hollywood is lacking these days because of their source material and the roots of their source material.
I don't know why people hate on the Marvel movies so much, they 'successfully' made a cohesive story line for so many movies. Even though the tone of every movie is quite cookie-cutter I always find the actual movies are quite engaging. Not to mention they made the fight scenes into something more then fight scenes; they're almost like catalogs for Power Levels.
Because to me outside of Guardians Of The Galaxy and the original Iron Man they are completely average at best films that make me question why I even bothered going out that night and it just ultimately makes me fear what they are now going to do with Spider-Man as a result.

I dunno why everyone thinks Guardians of the Galaxy was such an amazing film? If I can be honest, it was literally the only movie I've ever stopped streaming while choosing to watch a film online. Maybe it doesn't speak to who I am as a person, but having the little raccoon say cheesy one liners and a tree say the same ~lel internet~ I AM GROOT; while Chris Pratt does his tired ~wacky dum/smrt guy~ routine over and over again got old REAL quick for me.
Trust me, I know this is gonna sound stupid; but the whole movie felt like one big meme with how `randumly awsum` everyone was. I was honestly waiting for the raccoon to scream "SCIENCE!" or something along those lines. Hell, maybe he did.
Bautista was cool for what I saw of him though.

I tried to give the movie some good points; but how did I know that people would instantly shut me down for saying this? I just honestly can't see the appeal in the movie :(

I thought it was a great piece of entertainment that was really engaging with the audience, I just loved how it felt like a mash up of Science fiction TV shows and films but managed to do its own thing. I think Mark Kermode (A film critic I really enjoy listening to) sums it up.

When I see this I just WANT to love it. I'm not hating this to be edgy; like most of you probably think I am. But in reality when I watched it I literally got so bored of the humor I just... had to switch it off. Everyone just had an aire of ~lol i dont care, i kill stuff but also am funny, here's my WIT~ in literally, every, single scene. ( I know Iron Man 2/3 are fucking terrible for this)
Now with the main MCFilms, I love the idea that the Marvel characters have been kind of bounded to reality, it adds tension; which I found in Guardians was seriously lacking.
I guess different strokes for different folks.

I mean, Guardians was the first dip into the Cosmic side of the Marvel universe, of course it's not going to be as grounded as the rest of the MCU.
The MCU is going to be trending more towards the unreal as it goes on. We've got Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Inhumans, Iron Fist, and has already gotten more unreal with the inclusion of Scarlet Witch. But Doctor Strange is only a year away, and there is literally no way to go with him other than completely unreal. He's Doctor Strange, his entire thing is magic and the like.

Saying all that, I'd love to hear how you felt about Age of Ultron.

I don't really know how I felt about it. At first glance I thought it was a good 7/10 action flick, Upon reviewing the film I can totally see the schlock in pretty much every scene. On one hand I kind of like the direction they took with Ultron; but at the exact same time feel he was too snarky and not cold/robotic enough. Quicksilver was a nice addition and I feel they used his powers in the right way. Scarlet Witch was a pretty good addition even though her powers were just red lasers (durr audience members can't tell what shes doing unless its a bright shiny color). I liked the way they go about saving everyone in every situation. The dialogue had a lot of snarky quips and that's really where the negative points seep in.
The teams that make these movies are excellent at making an action movie; only the writing is just... eh. Everyone is too smart etc.., yada yada everyone knows this already.
I dunno but Guardians just has this whole aroma of ~lol SCIENCE!~ that I just can't shake personally. I want to.
And I already know you asked that sarcastically; but I thought I'd share anyways. It's 5 AM and I'm bored.

Since when were superhero movies ever realistic
I enjoyed Daredevil, but it was kinda surreal to know that this (relatively) realistic show takes place in the same universe where giant fucking space worms came out of the sky and attacked New York.
It didn't take away from my enjoyment of it, it was just weird to think about.
So I'm sorry I'm not a Marvel comics dude so I don't know the original story. But when it comes to government supervision it seems totally out of Captain America's character to not accept it and totally out of Stark's character to accept it.
Am I missing something?
I know Bucky and everything, but eh. I don't see it.

Captain America would definitely be against government regulation, he's seen first hand in The Winter Soldier how governments can be manipulated, so he definitely wouldn't trust being controlled by some higher power that keeps secrets from him.
And Tony I see vying for regulation because of his own screwups. Ultron was his own shot at trying to protect humanity and it blew up in his face, he doesn't want to be a liability to the safety of the world any more, he feels like he needs someone to keep check on him.

Captain America is one of those morally righteous, oh-so-good patriots so it seemed obvious he'd be all for good old America calling the shots. Stark is a maverick, he plays by his own rules, he doesn't like to be bound by rules and regulations and instead relies on his own judgement. So he'd want to be more free.
I suppose in this I'm discounting Winter Soldier, Iron Man 3 and Ultron. Which is probably my bad, tbh they're my 3 least favorite MCU movies.
I also actually dislike Captain America as a character so that probably doesn't help, I actually really hope Stark wins this, I have no idea how it goes down in the comics.

And because of that Cap was used by the government and Tony's maverick attitude hurt everyone around him, hence they switched places.

team america, punk
Hey, that looks pretty good.
Almost completely unrelated to the current discussion, the thumbnail for this video before you hit play is probably one of the most amusing things I've seen all week.
Hawkeye is floating, Cap looks ~mighty fabulous~, and Bucky looks like he's trying to hold in a shit during his morning jog. :v:

The comic isn't that good and is really just a mouth piece for the authors political views. It got so big because people like seeing heroes fight each other. Annihilation Conquest was going on at the same time and was much better.
You're right about them being out of character in the comic.

Cap fights for the American Dream(freedom etc.) and what the Flag represents, not the American government.
Why is spider man's part so crucial?

No, I didn't ask that sarcastically, now I see your opinion seems to be consistent.
Personally, GotG is my favourite Marvel movie. Yes, there is a lot of humor in it but for me the atmosphere and setting of the movie doesn't make the jokes be out of place. Plus all the character have a personality that fits their lines. On the other hand EVERYONE is making jokes in AoU, even characters who were pretty serious previously find time to give a cheesy one-liner. Especially Ultron, the big baddie, doesn't feel like a threat the entire movie because he can't stop making snarky comments.
Why is spider man's part so crucial?
In my opinion, with the movie's plot, he isn't.
Why is spider man's part so crucial?
In the comics, he reveals his identity and then almost immediately after [sp]Aunt May gets killed[/sp]. After that, he changes sides in the conflict.
I don't think that'll play out in the film, the trailer seemed to imply that Bucky is going to be at the centre of the conflict here.
Why is spider man's part so crucial?
In the comic? He's the icon who gets people to sign up and switches sides but in this he's probably just gonna be an up and comer that maybe Tony and Steve fight over.

In all honesty i was hoping Marvel was doing a New 52 style reboot just so i could breath a sigh of relief that this would be no longer canon.
The milking of these Superheroes is really starting to get under my skin. The trailers and the formats of these Superhero movies are always the same. Mostly mediocre movie productions.
I reaaalllyy need to see The Winter Soldier.
I've heard it's one of the better Marvel films out there.

The action scenes are bloody great, I highly recommend it.
