and GamerGate (Crying over dried and molded spilt milk)
Considering all the harassment and death threats made against himself and his family just for saying he supported GG I think it's a little more than crying over spilt milk for him.
GamerGate is horrible. Both sides are utter shite and full of pathetic people who are just finger pointing and assigning blame. Just play games for fun and have a good time. Jesus Cristo.
GamerGate is horrible. Both sides are utter shite and full of pathetic people who are just finger pointing and assigning blame. If there wasn't propaganda then you wouldn't have said that.
GamerGate is horrible. Both sides are utter shite and full of pathetic people who are just finger pointing and assigning blame. One side is made of angry Twitter users, the other side writes articles like "Gamers are dead" and smears the people that are supposed to be their own audience
There is a difference though.
I honestly always get it mixed up, which side is pro-GG and which side is anti-GG?
Anti-GG is the game journo cliques. Pro-GG is the evil misoginystic white nerd gamers who don't want girls in their treehouse club :v:
There is a difference though. One side is made of angry Twitter users, the other side writes articles like "Gamers are dead" and smears the people that are supposed to be their own audience
If you mean angry twitter users as in some of FP users who never use twitter, then yes even though I try to be calm. There's also journalists that takes friends/contacts (to them) as a poster child for the new future that all people who play video games should only play anything else shall be shamed upon rather then a select demographic. Unless you lump that into smearing gamers. It reminds me of the romantic era of music where your art had to come from an inspiration come from god. I'll have to look back at the history note and maybe dig into the past to see if there are indeed parallels.
GamerGate is horrible. Both sides are utter shite and full of pathetic people who are just finger pointing and assigning blame. You don't realize the reason that *some* of the people in both sides are "utter shite" is mostly because of the rediculous generalizations they use to justify their actions and statements? Like you're doing now?
GamerGate is horrible. Both sides are utter shite and full of pathetic people who are just finger pointing and assigning blame. If you like games you obviously will support the whole GG thing on some level besides the kneejerk reactioners and the minority of legit fat bearded babies who hate women.
The GG part *my sides
why is he talking like that, it's so god damned annoying
why is he talking like that, it's so god damned annoying
It's an act for comic effect.
why is he talking like that, it's so god damned annoying
it's the character
Yes and I'm sure your the superior utterly logical opinion compared to both. If you like games you obviously will support the whole GG thing on some level besides the kneejerk reactioners and the minority of legit fat bearded babies who hate women.
As much as I love and support Boogie, I really can't agree with his stance on Gamergate, which makes me upset because he's a legit good guy and I see where he's coming from. But the problem is that I just don't see the acceptance and love that Gamergate apparently has because it's buried in toxic garbage. On an incredibly simple level, the level of thinking that "games journalism and gamesshould be good : )," yes, I do. Everyone wants that. But do I support Gamergate? I kept up with Gamergate on twitter and shit over the last few months by following a few users who do that stuff and all I see is a cesspool of negativity, bashing, and conspiracy paranoia, which is STILL happening. So, no, I do not support Gamergate. But my hands down BIGGEST problem is that GG has done literally nothing to try to combat or silence these people, yet I'm somehow supposed to be responsible for every idiot with a journalism blog or tumblr fanatic. I find it hard to support a movement that can't even police its own members. "Hey, I don't support that doxxer/swatter/harasser's actions... but you should do what he says if you want it to stop!" is one of the most common things I'm seeing right now. I've gotten death threats for simply retweeting or reblogging stuff. It's a toxic pit that calls critics stuff like "shills" or "SJWs" if they don't agree with them, because I've yet to see a GGer attempt to change somebody's mindset without blaming it on some coalition of evil SJW journalists, or anti-gg harassers. You also can't just blame your group's behavior on the other side's harassers while ignoring your own. A few twitter guys got close to trying to convince me, but immediately dismissed me when I asked about the threats and doxxing and SWATTING. Why does that, apparently, not matter? It's just the same anti-SJW gamers that originated in like 2012 amplified because they all have a hashtag and their own board. Shit's not going , regardless of how many charities you fund out of spite or as a joke. This is just on Twitter, though, so if you have some sort of argument that isn't just "lol ignore it," I'd like to hear it.
tbh I kinda wish I had a script that blocked out all gamergate related stuff
of how many charities you fund out of spite or as a joke.
Yes, those charities were certainly funded out of childish spite :v:

This is just on Twitter, though, so if you have some sort of argument that isn't just "lol ignore it," I'd like to hear it.
I'll help! The reason why your twitter friends (or whoever they were) told it they "don't matter" is probably because what they were trying to relay to you was that the few don't make up the actions of the many. Many, very many, gamergate users condemn harassment and death threats in all forms. The few who do it are not gamergater's - but rather most likely trolls with no reason to do it other then "for the lulz" - I'm sure recent news can vouch for that. I can successfully say that gamergater sites do not ignore their own harassers - they actively hunt them down and report them. In a earlier case of 8chan, a user attempted to spread doxxing information about a feminist writer was stopped by users spamming the board it was being posted to make the doxxing information un-findable and prevent it's spread. (It could have been calls to threats aswell, I can't remember.) As a regular poster on the FP board, I always make sure to call out conspiracy theories when I see them, I ask for facts or to stop spreading rumors and hearsay. Kotakuinaction, the main reddit board for this stuff, makes sure to place "UNVERIFIED" and "VERIFIED" tags on popular threads as to avoid confusion. I'm not sure why you say "gamergate has done literally nothing to try to silence this people" - they have emailed lots of advertisers and tried to spread the word about corruption, I don't see what else you want! Interesting fact, no Agg'er has ever been swatted except for one! However, this was done by a troll group on 8-chan with no relevance to gamergate other then specifically trying to blame them. This is the only case where a threat has been put into action, ever. I would say that GG'ers have had people try to call their bosses and try to get them fired; but none of that information is totally verified, except one case where one of them attempted on twitter to tell a company to fire the guy (Can somebody get an image of that?) Gamergate is accepting because they don't try to force you to their side (An example of one trying to, and when one did on FP we called him out on it as a group) - on Agg I see a lot of "your either on our side or your supporting a hate group." Agg has a huge problem policing it's own members - there are massive amounts of doxxing, death threats coming from "them" too. (I put quotes because it could just be trolls, as I said earlier.) So in either case for your logic both should be "in the wrong." We donate to charities because we feel responsible for harassers actions and we want to repay for it to show we aren't the "big bad boogiemen" that media takes us to be! Is that a bad thing to you? Interesting fact, in total Agg has donated 100 dollars to charity - the only charity drive they failed to receive enough funding - however, they are willing to send upwards of 15,000 dollars a month to people who cry that gamergate harassed them, without any evidence of such! Did I mention that Agg constantly tries to stop gamergate from donating to charities? In one case with a charity, they called them up and told them to refuse a charity drive that was going to donate some 100,000 dollars. In another case, Totalbiscut recieved upwards of 300 death threats after retweeting a charity stream he was sponsored with. Why? His followers are "undesirable gamergaters" - Or so the streamer said. The stream was cut off and shut down simply because of that tweet, with aplenty angry message being sent to him.. because he wanted people to donate to a stream. Yeah. Here's some example of corruption since according to you, have yet to be given some : http://i.imgur.com/9xfda2O.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PE3dFMS.png http://i.imgur.com/0z0sfCa.png http://i.imgur.com/vZzQ0C4.png http://i.imgur.com/zwqeTm4.jpg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaMccosnRMc Here's a graph of all cases of ethical abuse since 1996 - You might be able to see why some people are angry now! http://www.tiki-toki.com/timeline/entry/355300/The-Dirty-History-of-Games-Journalism/ I'd be glad to debate any other points you may have. [editline]a[/editline] Most damning example evidence : This isn't an isolated case either, this happens constantly on sites like Kotaku and Polygon, which is why we dislike them greatly.
But the problem is that I just don't see the acceptance and love that Gamergate apparently has because it's buried in toxic garbage.
Hey kinda like how feminism gets a shit reputation because of the vocal minority right?
Shit's not going , regardless of how many charities you fund out of spite or as a joke.
How does one fund a charity out of spite
the great assblasting of 2015
Damn I'm impressed, do you just have all this shit saved, because if so, good job.
tbh jimmy wales said it best, make an actual union/group, the hashtag is so tired at this point, twitter is the worst way to go about this whole thing
Help out make one then! It won't happen without a natural born leader and support from both reddit and FP - even if you just slightly care about ethics, the best thing you can do is help out and stop all this. Although I have tried to make a union, there simply isn't enough support or people don't see the "reason" to have one, with convincing from others people can come together and say something about it. Of course - the union will still be called a "hate group" - but it'll be better then a reddit page.
