Planet Fitness is a treadmill farm. I am surrounded by them in MA. Literally any other gym in the area will have proper equipment as well as people both heavy lifters or easygoers alike who wont judge you. If anything, the kindest people I have met at the gym were people who would be labelled as "lunks"

I never understood why they had the "Lunk Alarm." It just seems really embarrassing for whoever gets it pulled on them. Like, the entire gym hears it and looks at the guy who broke the rules. That's not nice.

i dunno man i've spent a lot of time in gyms especially those visited by young adults and there's definitely a certain mindset in some gym rats that is quite intimidating and rude as hell

I guess it's not as bad as some make it out to be considering its only once a month for most gyms but still.. They market it as a place for new gym goers, VULNERABLE people. If this person is still fighting with the choice of sticking with a healthy lifestyle or giving themselves up would you really want to tempt them like that?
Also there was a really popular article in the sensationalist headlines that outlines the overall scam that planet fitness is. They don't want you to be healthy, they want as much money as they can milk out of you.

I guess if we are talking about big commercial entities then yes. But there are a lot of local gyms or even commercial franchises run by locals that genuinely want people to come and live a healthy lifestyle.

Fairly sure more than one person in this video did.
My local Planet Fitness gave up on the lunk alarm because of how annoying it was. It was so fucking loud.
The planet fitness I've been to always had a big tub of free tootsie rolls. A lot of the treadmill cup holders always had tons of wrappers in them.
