There ya go, okay I understand. This is what I'm used to seeing: I assumed they where like the rather shy European ones. You think the aggression has to do with the crossbreeding? I heard it could have those sort of effects on animals.
European hogs are so goddamn cute but not these Eastern-Asian fuckers.
Hunting hogs using dogs and Machetes isn't uncommon. These guys just suck at stabbing their vitals. My brother and several of my cousins hunt them with dogs and ATV's. Once they have them cornered, they each grab a limb and jab a machete or long blade into its heart. Or they castrate it and let it go if its male. [editline]19th December 2014[/editline]
their skulls are around 10 times thicker than ours, that little .357 isn't likely to kill it unless he gets his hand much closer to the hog's mouth than I'd be comfortable with
Um no. a 357 mag, and most other handguns above 25 auto, would be sufficient for ripping through a hog skull. The reason most people carry large 357's, .44's, 10mm auto's, and other large caliber handguns as back ups on hog hunts is because headshots aren't guaranteed when you've got a hog tearing through your ankles. [editline]19th December 2014[/editline]
It doesn't, if you look they're still kicking after it hits them. That says a lot considering a 12 gauge is essentially the most powerful readily available gun you can get.
please stop talking about guns because you've got no fucking clue what you're talking about.
what good is a sword then?
you can slip it between the ribs through the neck and get a pretty devastating attack. spears are the preferred weapon for this though [editline]19th December 2014[/editline]
Hunting hogs using dogs and Machetes isn't uncommon.
They are living breathing things, they are just defending their territory when they get aggressive. And if you've unloaded 20 rounds into em, you're obviously a very shit shot. I never understand why deer are shot in a "humane" way, but animals like these aren't. Just because they are pests, does it mean you should be cruel to it? Seems like pure bloodlust to me. Waste of rounds and a good waste of money too!
Defending their territory? Well so are these honest working Humans and guess who invented gunpowder first, bitch? That's right BOOM. Because Deer are valued for their meat and fur.. These hogs offer NOTHING but destruction and degradation of man's livelihood. Waste of ammunition? Money? It doesn't matter if they dump some 100 rounds with diamond encrusted cartridges they'll still save money in the long-run.
I'm not against hunting at all but hacking at it like that is just extremely cruel.
I'm surprised he went for a sword, though.. I would've gone for something with a bit more reach.
I don't know what to think; I know they're destructive and they need to be taken care of, but at the same time this was really hard for me to watch for some reason and I like to think I don't get uncomfortable easy. But then again I laughed when it showed one video of dudes blowing them the fuck up with bombs or something.
pigs/hogs/boars also aren't native to the Americas so nowhere here is their territory, totally invasive species [editline]18th December 2014[/editline] also the thread title should be "how redneck Floridians hunt hogs"
ok find a gun that hurts more than a 12 gauge at wal mart thanks
A pawnshop I used to live next to kept M82's in stock. So uh. yea.
I went hog hunting once, used my Lee-Enfield No.4, got one without firing a shot. Stabbed it once through the heart and it died about a second later.
