I'm getting about 400$ for doing shit tons of yard work, and while I was undecided on how I would spend it, now I know for sure. I'm buying an Oculus as soon as the consumer version comes out.
It would be fun if you could program the rollercoaster to break at some point without the consent of the user, having them plummeting to a virtual death.
I wonder if it would be possible to hook up two smaller fans into the software to simulate wind when you're running or moving really fast. It would really sell the roller coaster demo.
Wait for the consumer version.
Man it makes me really sad that the commercial version is years away :(
I should really try the rollercoaster demo, I only tried Tuscany demo and TF2 so far
add a webcam in front of the oculous rift and distort it.
wait, add a webcam on the front and augmented reality. one can hope
wait, add a webcam on the front and augmented reality. one can hope
the lag would make it feel really weird, probably
I wish I knew someone that had this, I want to try it out so much
Thats not Samuel L. Jackson, ITS EDDIE MURPHY.
It is obviously an AK47 I will get an Oculus Rift when the commercial version is out. At the moment I am working on a project myself, which is about using datagloves to navigate through menus or the desktop. With Ocolus Rift and these Datagloves one could imagine to navigate through a 3D version of his desktop. Just sitting relaxed on the couch, browsing the web or coding something in Visual Studio. Future is comfortable. I CAN'T WAIT TO BE COWBOY BEBOP AT HIS COMPUTER!
