Starting out on youtube, need opinions/constructive criticism! - General

I pretty much only watch NintendoCapriSun, Spike and Barley, and Chuggaaconroy nowadays. Most people have joined lets plays lately just for the easy partnership money they can get.

So the new mic I ordered is apparently broken. The USB port was fucked up when I opened the box, damn.

It's awfully boring. Here's something a bit more constructive: 1. You sound really monotone. There's little variation in speech which makes it hard to "catch" on. It's kinda like looking at a photo that only has black and very dark gray, or white and very light gray. Overall it's not easy to get the right balance. Many people again sound over excited which is just as bad. IMO it's portrayed well in news where announcers talk very clearly and use a lot of different tones while not sounding overly excited. 2. The music in your second video goes on for way too long. I am not sure what I am supposed to do during that time. 3. There's A LOT of wasted space. Most people won't be watching this fullscreen so fill your space as much as possible. The part where you show the renders especially suffers as the image is really small. Not sure what to say about the weapon listing, maybe that you repeat the word UNSC too much. If they all have UNSC in their name, maybe you can live without saying that. Instead write the name on the bottom of the image or something. 4. You repeat a lot. Both words and entire sentences. Very obvious in the first video, in the second a bit less but happens enough to become annoying. Unless absolutely needed, do not use the same word twice in a sentence and try not to use it in the next one either. "Final renders of Master Chief and his allies: Master Chief..." this sounds redundant. 5. There's a lot of silence between "categories". There is no need for this blank transition, either you instantly move to the next category or put something in between. No blanks. 6. Not really a CC but do not ask for subs/comments/whatever. It makes you feel awfully generic. I think if someone likes your vids, they will sub and comment, no need to remind them. Unless your target audience is Alzheimer patients. Do not end your video with "peace". That's cheesy and makes you sound like a hippie of sorts. Why is there even Halo 1 gameplay, that felt so unrelated. No negative feelings, just some suggestions. In the end it's up to you to accept or ignore them.

I find it funny how these apparently bad LP videos or whatever threads gets more attention then good ones that are sometimes posted here.
