It wouldn't work for this kind of game though, it's way too fast paced for that.
Then go fast on your second playthrough. Nobody played Hotline Miami on their first playthrough like they were on crack and I expect no one will do the same with this game.
Bloody hell.

I feel kinda bad for the dev. The THKM gifs already had the whole dual wielding thing but releasing this trailer after the new HM2 which revealed it kinda shits all over him. Still gonna play the fuck out of it.
Any release date on the game?

He's switching to a 3D engine, sadly.
reminds me about hotline kavkaz where everyone flipped a shit, to this date it is unknown whether cactus was trolling or if it was a legit project
He's switching to a 3D engine, sadly.
Unity 3D has become very versatile in the past couple of years. Lots of people are using it for full games that are quite good.

I want games like this and hotline miami in first or third person. Over head is fun and all... but in the end of the day, a triple A release on one of these games would be the shit.

It's too fast-paced, intense, and unforgiving to be over-the-shoulder or first-person. Make it anything else, and it loses its charm.
Some gif-y goodness:
Really excited for this. More than Hotline 2. If it is like what the video shows, it should be great fun.

That trailer music is amazing, so is that artist just listened to his stuff on SC and holy shit
