Apparently Jesper Kyd actually turned them down as opposed to them dumping him.
I can understand that. He must be busy with Assassin's Creed or something. But Bateson, they weren't answering any of his calls or anything. Shame to treat someone like that.
Hi there Mathew, Thanks to you I now know more! I didn't even know the E3 thing had voice work on it at all. Yeah, I won't lie. I am totally gutted. You know, IO called me in in Sept 09 and said I had to now audition for the part thanks to them hiring some LA casting director. Well, I ate my slice of humble pie and auditioned and then heard back shortly afterwards: congratulations - you got the part. I have been waiting ever since for the call to go in and record... You know, I can even understand IOI not letting me know what's going on so as to avoid any loss of shine in the build up to the trailer premiere and then E3. But now, after repeated mails and sms to the producer and still no reply I am lost for words. Thanks for your support though. Kind regards David
To me, Bateson is 47. It just won't be the same if he's not in it. Anyway related to above posts: you can't deny that Blood Money still looks fantastic to this day.
I wasn't talking about you, I was referring to others saying that he looks retarded now.
Pardon me, misinterpreted your post. [editline]1st June 2012[/editline]
I can understand that. He must be busy with Assassin's Creed or something. But Bateson, they weren't answering any of his calls or anything. Anyway related to above posts: you can't deny that Blood Money still looks fantastic to this day.
Blood Money was essentially the Chaos Theory of the Hitman series. It was awesome from virtually every perspective. Even though many people rightfully state that Contracts was darker, more atmospheric, and creepier than Blood Money.
They did what they could with the tech back in the day. Also yeah it looks neato But there are a few things that bug me slightly, like there not being any animations of him taking out weapons out of his jacket (minor nitpick but seriously it looks swag as hell) And the fact that they ditched David Bateson for unknown reasons, at least to me. Can anyone shed light on it? Last thing I heard about it was that Bateson wasn't even contacted about Absolution and he actually tried contacting IO And Jesper Goddamn Kyd what the fuck
The team at I/O is almost completely different from what it was half a decade ago. A lot of people quit the studio to go and join the Heroes and Generals development team.
according to complaints on youtube
-Music is terrible, they shouldn't have dumped Jesper Kyd, or at least they could have remixed the earlier songs. -Cinematic takedowns? Dumb. -When he threw the knife he didn't even have to aim unlike previous games. -It doesn't seem to have any inventory management. I might be wrong.
Looks like a Hitman game to me.
according to complaints on youtube
Music in my opinion is very enjoyable. Cinematic takedowns do not interfere with anything whatsoever, they simply give us a better observation angle. Knife aiming can most probably be easily fixed. Inventory management most probably either exists or can be easily implemented before the actual beta.
Yeah he looks retarded in the renders from first game, but they made him pretty menacing in the other ones
okay that's right
Looks like a Hitman game to me.
Not sure why you would say that, if anything it appears to pretty closely resemble Bubsy 3D.
Looks absolutely awesome, but I did notice that some actions could use a bit more animation. I mostly noticed it when he equipped the knife.
I'm so pumped for this game. It looks fantastic can't fucking wait
I really hope that they still have those Generated Newspapers based on how you play in Blood Money. Reading them is really instersting.
I do too. I liked the stories, foreshadowing, and hidden humor.
I love how he still snorts the coke, even through death. He is a persistent druggie.
I think kyd turned them down because he was committed to assassins creed or something, no idea why they didn't get bateson back though.
I love how he still snorts the coke, even through death. He is a persistent druggie.
Funny bugs that don't mean much, a staple of the franchise.
Too bad this will be nothing like the previous games and will pretty much just be Hitman: Conviction. Oh wait
All I want is a Blood money with better graphics, and the ability to hide bodies in closets.
All I want is a Blood money with better graphics, and the ability to hide bodies in closets.
That's funny cause this picture is on the new absolution steam page:
You could get the clue of dumping bodies into closets from the "Introducing Agent 47" video.
Cool it has that hitman feeling but its kinda sad that there's no jesper kyd and bateson.
Hmm, it's interesting how they're keeping 47 silent, it makes me wonder if David IS actually 47's voice actor but David and IO are keeping it secret from the fans to surprise them when it's released? That's just my theory since it's a bit odd how they still haven't let us hear his voice.
This is pretty much absolutely fantastic. I've been sceptical of this game after seeing the many other videos, making it appear to be going in the Hitman: Conviction direction. This pretty much nullifies all of my doubt. IO Interactive still being awesome. On a different note, in 2007 I had a work placement at IO Interactive. We saw some very early gameplay of Absolution, but it looked nothing like this at all. I also remember some poster that looked completely different from this. I guess they changed a lot since then. Could be cool to have been there more recently, maybe we'd have gotten to actually play some of the game. We got to play an early alpha version of Mini Ninjas. Whoop. Not really complaining, t'was still awesome.
I like how the gap between Blood Money and Absolution is the same length as the amount of time it took for the 4 previous Hitman games to come out.
I love it. Everyone made bullshit assumptions from one gameplay video (disregarding the trailers because they are obviously selling to shooter crowd) even though the devs said stealth is all there.
Everything released up to this point has supported the assumption that the Hitman series was going in a different direction. But Im really glad to see that its not. The voice acting in the beginning was cheesy though.
-It doesn't seem to have any inventory management. I might be wrong.
I remember Blood Money's Inventory system If it's concealable, you can carry an infinite number of them :v:
Fuck the haters, this game is going to be amazing. People can only nitpick. I don't even care about the voice actor, 47 barely says anything (not even a single word in this trailer).
Cool it has that hitman feeling but its kinda sad that there's no jesper kyd and bateson.
I don't really get the whole 'NOOOO JESPER KYD WHYYY' thing I mean maybe I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that if nobody ever said a word about Jesper Kyd leaving, you would play Absolution and probably not be able to tell the difference. Bateson missing however will probably be quite noticeable.
Hell, they got a guy who previously worked with Jesper Kyd to do the music. And if you want Jespers music so bad, go play assassins creed :v:
Sequel done right, this had the Hitman Blood Money gameplay feel to it but just looked way smoother. BUYING THIS!
Are they going with a mute protagonist thing? Because I haven't heard 47 say a god damn thing.
