• People Are Really Mad There Are Female Ghostbusters [Jimmy Kimmel]

Let's not forget that leak that someone posted in the last Ghostbusters thread. You know, the one where it said something about Bill Murray being bribed onto the set. Well something like that.
There's also a group out there who thinks the black woman in the remake deserve to be hung on a tree and have her family executed. But we don't listen to sexists and racists. Just pretend they don't exist and one day they'll fuck off when their gene pools slowly dilute. [editline]9th June 2016[/editline] I mean, they can be mad all they want. But they're wrong.
There is a difference between saying "These people are a tiny insignificant portion of the haters and it's irresponsible and disingenious for Kimmel to paint everyone who dislike sthe movie wit hthe same brush" and "No those people literally don't exist" It's hard to remember because it's been a couple years but when a female Ghostbusters movie was first rumored and that's all the information we had, there were definitely people on this very site saying outright that women weren't funny or talented enough to recreate Ghostbusters. Again, not a majority, not even a big minority, but they still do exist. Now that it's finished filming and basically everyone thinks it's crap for a variety of reasons it's hard to find that specific opinion but it still definitely exists but as an even smaller faction of people who generally hate the movie for the various terrible looking aspects of it.

Look at his reaction @00:39 [editline]June 9th, 2016[/editline] [vid]https://a.pomf.cat/gdmdoz.webm[/vid]
Bill looks dead inside being there
It's almost no longer a fucking movie, it's basically turning into a statement and nothing else. Which is terrible because I'm a feminist and I honestly think that the community could be using a better fucking source for its mouthpiece.
Was it ever a movie?
What the fuck that was actually a clip from the movie in the beginning there? I thought it was a shitty promotional skit or something, Jesus. Also nice having the crazy black chick do Oprah references where they don't make sense
Its sad that this movie is probably going to make a lot of money. I can only hope it flops and dies a quick death so we won't have to bear the thought of any sequels.

But I agree, I want this movie to bomb hard. This movie flat does not deserve to succeed. I hope the people responsible for this pile of shit get sentenced to the chopping block after it fails.

They are putting all their eggs in one basket with the social justice crowd and that stuff just doesn't appeal to people who want to go to the theaters and shove popcorn in their faces. My prediction is it's going to be a middling success, make back a little more than it cost, and maybe set up for a sequel that will inevitably bomb hard.

You know, the people who like to complain instead of support the things they "care" about. Their second mistake was pissing off and alienating the actual ghostbusters fans who MIGHT have gone to see the movie if the franchise was treated with more respect.
this whole ordeal reminds me when George Lucas called everyone racist for not liking his Red Tails movie
this whole ordeal reminds me when George Lucas called everyone racist for not liking his Red Tails movie
Only this time mainstream media isn't laughing it off? Because seriously, nobody is ever just saying "shut up you're talking bollocks" to these (and I hate using this word because it's dismissive as fuck, but) crybullies.

And regardless of whether or not it works for Sony here it seems to be catching on already. I suppose the idea that critics should always be wrong is just too alluring for Hollywood execs to question.

I even wonder if they did the movie JUST to feed the "grrrl power" train.
Well the last movie that banked on support from the SJW crowd was Red Tails that I remember. Had a Oprah endorsement, Snoop Dogg ad, and a lot of black social groups actually went to see the film together enmasse. And it still performed badly in box office under its budget. Ghostbusters has a bigger name, but the SJW crowd might not be enough to give it gangbusters.
I love how they cant admit that their movie is going to be shit so they pull out the sexist card. I mean yea there are going to be bigots and idiots who say that women cant act, whatever. but that isnt the reason why its going to be shit, its shit because they're trying too hard to make it funny without anything else. none of the characters feel likable or endearing, they're all just boring tropes. not to mention everyone being female in both cast and directors. theres nothing wrong with that, but it just looks like a publicity stunt.
How perfectly suiting, a pathetic retort to a pathetic statement. Funny how that clip embodies the movie so well.
Just this second I suddenly started thinking that the fat woman from Bridesmaids only got popular because she's fat. Like she only got away with being a mediocre comedian at best because she has that gimmick.
Honestly I'd probably have like no opinion on this movie if it weren't for the fact that anyone that thinks it looks bad is being decried as a sexist or a "trump voter" I feel like it's kinda disgusting and plays down actual acts of sexism if that makes any sense
But... there are people saying it though theres a group of people who think females can not be funny in acting at all and have been vocal about it i agree im not too excited for the movie, but its not an insignificant amount of people who hate the idea that they are female
there were also a not-insignificant amount of people who were enraged that star wars VII starred a black guy...does that then have to reflect on everyone who criticizes that movie???
'people don't like the movie' DUDE LMAO VIRGINS LIVING WITH PARENTS WITH NO LIVES xD
By this point this movie deserves a "commenting blackout/boycott", it is getting too much attention which it doesn't deserve, it's all a marketing plot. It should be simply ignored.
i mean come on, it is the current year after all don't you men want to be on the good side of history?
i mean come on, it is the current year after all don't you men want to be on the good side of history?
Wish we could ship these kinds of people to the Arctic. I'd say fire them from a cannon into the sun, but that would be too inhumane wouldn't it?
