this makes robocop 2/3 look like a masterpiece
I liked 2 though, minus druggie kid. What is this bullshit though, they butchered his armor. So basically they gave him a 'robot costume' as I recall in the original, he was mostly made of cybernetics and not 'robot costume', the only flesh he had was his face. God, they butchered a great 80s classic I mean look And the gun looks like a plastic toy in the reboot
Hollywood is a malignant tumor. It's just fucking disgusting and depressing.
With the cast it has, I was really hoping it to be good. This trailer makes me very conflicted.
This is a goddamned abortion of the original themes and message
This looks like almost every other action movie with an influx of CGI nowadays, except with 'sleek, black-n-red' Robocop.
Some director in Hollywood must've gone, "Shit, I need change for the bus. Better remake a classic 1980s movie."
What I liked about the original was that Robocop didn't know who he was for much of the movie. In fact, unless I'm mistaken, we never actually saw Murphy and his family together even before the incident. When Robocop goes to where the Murphys used to live, it's a tragic scene because you know that he'll never connect with them again - they think he's dead, and they're not too far off from the truth. When the helmet finally comes off and he declares his name is Murphy, not Robocop, it's a powerful sign. Yet it's still incomplete - he's still more machine than man, and his free will is still limited by his programming. In the remake, it looks like "robocop" is just a nickname they give to the ubercharged Murphy - he still has his memories, family, and free will. I also really don't like how much of his body is still there. In the original, he was robo'd so much that they cut off his arm even though it was fine. In this, his whole face keeps showing up and his arm is intact. Also it seems like a slap in the face that they modernize the costume and then go "Haha, that looks dumb. Make it COOL!" Heck, just look at this. Deus Ex isn't Robocop (not really) but it still nails this much better than the remake appears to. Jensen is saved, yes, but at what cost? He spends the whole game struggling with what it means to have these augs, and it's not really a pretty picture. Rebootcop seems to just be a smiling badass the whole time who sticks it to the man.
don't care sounds like powerglove
You mean powerglove sounds like the terminator theme?
don't care sounds like powerglove
That's like saying Dolemite looks like Black Dynamite
idk it feels like it might have moral questions but i couldn't tell. they blew him up to make robertcop
Well that was pretty bad.
kid-friendly
I like how movies that weren't kid-friendly at all still got marketed like nuts back in the old days
I think it would be much more like the originals if, when the guy said to make it more tactical and black, someone just turned to him and said "no, that's fucking stupid."
I like how movies that weren't kid-friendly at all still got marketed like nuts back in the old days
Let's not forget this kidified gemsterpiece:
They make fun of the old suit in the movie, yet simultaneously made an even more ridiculous looking robot suit.
Won't have the scene where the robot blasts a guy into a bloody mess 0/10
I think it would be much more like the originals if, when the guy said to make it more tactical and black, someone just turned to him and said "no, that's fucking stupid."
I've heard theories on the internet that the black suit is satirizing how everything has to be "tacticool" now but I don't think this film is that clever
A car bomb fucked up Murphy? Really? One of the best scenes in the original was is when he got shot to hell by all those gangsters. It was horrifying to watch.
I've heard theories on the internet that the black suit is satirizing how everything has to be "tacticool" now but I don't think this film is that clever
"See guys? We can do the satire of the original movies! See? Tactical? It's satire! Get it? Hah hah, right guys?"
You guys are over reacting, it doesn't look that bad. The only way it'll suck is if it's PG-13. Also I hate it when a video says HQ but it's in 360p

Bad or not, it just looks forgettable.
Just kidding, I'll always love you Robertcop
I don't see what the big hubub is about. It's not like the original was a masterpiece. And this is directed by the guy who directed Elite Squad 1 and 2 which were damn fine movies so I want to give it a chance. Plus, it has Gary Oldman and Sam Jackson.

doesn't look that bad tbh.

I bet he's not even going to be in stop-motion.
ED was in stop motion in the original films because that was the best way they could do it, short of building a giant prop and somehow motorizing it. If you go back and watch it, it hasn't aged well at all and looks ridiculously jerky and unreal. Doing ED in stop-motion in the new film would just make the film worse.
Look at all the cheap plastic, did they outsource robocop to china?
Muh nostalgias
The trailer is the Terminator theme, but the guy who did the OST for Robocop also did Starship Troopers, as did the director of the movie. It shows and they're badass I don't know what this CGI bullshit is but it's going to be worse than Robocop 2 or 3 ever were. EDI looks somewhat similar but even its got Super Future Edgy Edges! God damnit Also, Robocop isn't a masterpiece, it's a classic. One of those 80's movies that just says 80's. Cheesy, and it knows it, but in a good way. This new one is CGI and taking itself seriously by the looks of it. You can't have something like Robocop and be serious, it just won't work. That's why Dredd was terrible
